The National Police Council has confirmed Kayode Egbetokun as the Acting Inspector General of Police. By confirming him Dr Egbetokun has become the 22nd Inspector General of Police, IGP.
He was in an Acting Capacity for four months.
Egbetokun was appointed the Acting IGP on June 20th, 2023, by President Bola Tinubu.
The Minister of Police Affairs, Ibrahim Gaidam, announced Egbetokun’s confirmation as the IGP to state house correspondents after the meeting of the council chaired by President Tinubu.
The IGP was Tinubu’s Chief Security Officer when the President was the Governor of Lagos State.
