At the time of this report, the results of 13 Local Government Areas, out of 18 LGAs, have been released. Obaseki has won in 11 of them while Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu of the All Progressives Congress, APC, won in two.

He is leading with a margin of 63, 313 votes.

Both candidates and their running mates won in all their wards. But the most striking was at the ward of former National Chairman of the APC, Adams Oshiomhole where he won in style.

Oshiomhole confirmed his electoral supremacy over everybody, and especially,  Deputy Governor/ Obaseki’s running mate, Philip Shaibu, by picking all the votes there were to pick, leaving Shaibu with zero votes.

Oshiomhole went on to deliver the Estako LGA, where both he and Shaibu hall from, to the APC. The APC polled 26, 240 to PDP’s 17,959.

Ize-Iyamu’s running mate also hails from the same LGA.

Shaibu had boasted that he would deliver the LGA to the PDP in a landslide, and defeat Oshiomhole in his ward.
