The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, says it is too late to remove the APC from printed Ballot Papers. But warns that any vote cast for the party during the Governorship election is a waste.
An INEC Commissioner, Festus Okoye, disclosed this in Abuja, Thursday, while addressing the Media.
Okoye’s stand was consequent upon the Judgement of a Federal High Court, Yenegoa, Bayelsa, which on Thursday, declared the Governorship Primary which produced the APC candidate, David Lyon, null and void, insisting that the party did not hold a proper primary.
The suit was instituted by an angry aspirants Senator Heineken Lokpobiri ,who said he was fraudulently cheated out of victory.
Said Okoye: ”We can’t remove APC on the already printed Ballot Papers, but any vote cast for APC is a wasted vote.”
