Breaking: A Former Gov Dies In Saudi Arabia

Bukar Abba Ibrahim, a former governor of Yobe state has died.

The former governor was among the first set of governors at the return of Nigeria to democratic government in 1999.

He was in that position for eight years.

He had earlier served as governor in the northern state during the Gen. Ibrahim Babangida botched transition to civil between 1992 and 1993.

According to a family source, the former governor died on Sunday, February 4, in Saudi Arabia after a protracted illness.

Ibrahim was a very influential politician in the state during his time.

Apart from ruling the state as chief executive, he also served as a senator for two terms representing Yobe East Senatorial District.

The late politician was born in 1949 in Goniri, Gujba in the old Borno state.
