The Controller-General of Customs, Hamid Ali, has said that the border closure is a win-win situation for Nigeria, adding that the hard times being experienced in the country has been with Nigerians, and is not caused by the closure.

Meanwhile, the Presidency has said the closure will only last till next year-January 31st to be precise.

The Deputy Comptroller of Customs in charge of Enforcement, Investigation and Inspectorate, Victor Dimka, sent the Presidential directive to the Customs Sector Coordinators. The memo read in part:

“I am directed to inform you that it is observed that despite the overwhelming success of the operation, particularly the security and economic benefits to the nation, a few strategic objectives are you to be achieved.
