Anthony Kila, until now, the rave of Media Houses and, indeed, the political public, has been barred by Arise News Network from appearing on its Channel for alleged forgery of his educational qualifications.

The network did not only bar him, but took an extra step of apologising to its millions of listeners and followers for Kila’s previous appearances. Other networks may toe same same line.

The Michael and Cecilia Ibru University, Delta State, which Pro-chancellor he was, had, before Arise, sacked him from the high profile office.

Kila, until he fell from the Olympian height into the gutter flaunted himself as a Professor, and before his Professorship, a string of other University degrees and honours.

The bubble burst when Premium Times, in an investigation, exposed all Kila’s educational qualification-claims,  almost, including his claim to Professorship, as fake.

Since then, Kila has not taken up the challenge of proving wrong the damning findings by Premium Times, or sought legal action against the newspaper.

Shocked, Arise Network on Tuesday, announced  that Kila, who had appeared often on its channel as a freelance political analyst, will no longer enjoy the privilege of appearing on the channel no thanks to the  allegations of falsified academic credentials.

The Editorial Board in a disclaimer titled “Investigation: Anthony Kila’s ‘Degrees’, Arise News Channel said it

contacted Kila on October 3, 2026, with the allegations, but he asked for more time to respond.

But it said: “He has not responded 10 days after, and instead, “the allegations have gotten worse. In the circumstances we find that his contributions to The Arise News Channel is no longer tenable”.
