The National Youth Wing of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has ascribed renomination of Kashim Shettima as the party’s vice-presidential candidate for the 2027 general election, to his competence, loyalty and exemplary service to the nation.
In a statement by the APC National Youth Leader, Dr. Dayo Israel, the youth wing said Shettima’s renomination alongside President Bola Ahmed Tinubu reflects the party’s confidence in a tested leadership partnership that has driven the Renewed Hope Agenda over the past three years.
According to him, the Vice President has distinguished himself through unwavering commitment, humility, intellectual capacity and dedication to national development, earning the trust of the party leadership and Nigerians.
The youth leader noted that Shettima’s calm disposition, wealth of experience and steadfast support for President Tinubu have strengthened governance and contributed significantly to the administration’s efforts at economic recovery, national unity and institutional development.
Dr. Israel stated that the APC believes leadership should be anchored on service, teamwork, character and performance, adding that the Vice President’s renomination sends a strong signal that these values remain the foundation of the ruling party.
He recalled that members of the National Working Committee formally received the nomination forms in Abuja, describing the event as more than a routine political exercise, but a reaffirmation of confidence in the Tinubu-Shettima partnership.
He pledged its unwavering support for the Tinubu-Shettima ticket ahead of the 2027 presidential election, expressing optimism that the administration would continue to implement policies aimed at strengthening the economy, creating opportunities for young Nigerians and advancing national development.
