The Governor spoke on Thursday as he participated in the APC Governorship Primary Election at Ward E3 on Lagos Island. He described the exercise as peaceful, orderly, and reflective of internal party democracy.

Sanwo-Olu who arrived the polling venue with his wife, Dr. Ibijoke Sanwo-Olu, said that the direct primary process allowed party members at the ward level to freely participate in the emergence of the party’s governorship candidate.

He  said he remains optimistic that Hamzat will consolidate on the progress the State has achieved over the years and leverage on it.

Hamzat was chosen as the Consensus Candidate of the Party, prompting the likes of Mauyon Ajose and Olajide Adediran, popular as Jandor to step down for him. Thar followed his endorsement by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
