Adelabu, Minister For Power, Survives Plane Crash

Nigeria’s Minister For Power, Adedayo Adelabu, on Friday night, November, 3, 2023, survived a plane crash.

The Minister, a native of Oyo  State, was on board a private jet which he boarded in Abuja, to Ibadan, but the plane crash-landed in Ibadan, off the runway of Samuel Ladoke Akintola Airport.

Even though the names of the other passengers on board have not been made public, aside from a couple of the Minister’s Aides,  it is suspected that there were, also, a couple of top Federal Government Officials. There were about souls on board, excluding  the crew members.

It is not known if the Minister was on an official or private visit to his home State, the private jet, HS25B, operated by Flint Aero, missed the runway, crash-landed, and ended up in the bush.

The flight took off from Abuja at 6.41pm, and crash-landed at 7.21 pm after it had been cleared by by Air Traffic Controllers for an RNAV approach to Runway 22. On landing, it skidded off the runway, and ended in the bush. And, even though there was very substantial damage to the airplane, no fatality was recorded.

An investigation into the mishap has been kicked off by the Nigerian Safety Investigative Bureau, NSIB.

Most Nigerian big men and women, including top Government Officials, and especially, State Governors, ignore commercial planes and prefer the luxury of privately owned jets to the former.
