23-Year Old Female Law School Student Commits Suicide

Faith Ajoke Alayande, a 23-Year Old Student of the Nigerian Law School, NLS, has died of suspected suicide at the institution’s hostel in Victoria Island, Lagos.

 

It was gathered from sources that the deceased was found dead at the hostel in the early hours of Friday, August 7, 2026.

 

The Chief Matron of the Law School, Igbokwe Juliana was said to have immediately alerted the Victoria Island Police Division to the incident at about 6:30 a.m, when she was informed of the unfortunate incident by the deceased’s roommate, Ojo Abisoye Tinuola.

 

The roommate of the late Alayande was said to have recently completed her internship.

Following the report the Victoria Island Police Division, Police detectives subsequently visited the hostel, documented the scene and commenced an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the student’s death.

 

Though the circumstances surrounding her death stoll remains unknown, but the possibility of the deceased taking her own life isn’t out of place, as her remains was deposited at the Mainland General Hospital Mortuary, Yaba, for preservation and autopsy.

 

Police said investigations are ongoing to establish the circumstances surrounding the death.

 

Her death has however created shock waves within the Students, as some of her colleagues are yet to come to terms with her demise, as they pray for the repose of her soul.
