The Imo State chapter of the African Democratic Congress, ADC, has called on its members to remain calm over the Federal High court judgment sacking the Senator David Mark leadership of the party. The party urged members not to panic or despair as the judgment has already been appealed at a higher court.
The party stated that its candidates and members have worked hard enough, and would not be discouraged by the temporary setback due the court judgment.
According to a statement signed by the state Publicity Secretary, Macdonald Amadi, the party will use all available legal means to upturn the judgment, urging its presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, National Chairman, David Mark, and other candidates not to be ‘’broken’’ but to be united, noting that Nigerians are prepared to give their mandate to the ADC in the upcoming 2027 election, as the judgment is not the end of the road for the party to lead the country.
He said: “Our members have laboured day and night. Our candidates have sacrificed their comfort, their resources, their time and their sweat to build this party as a credible alternative for Nigeria.”
“Today, their hearts are heavy. Their eyes are filled with tears. But we say to them, turn your tears to triumph. Turn your pain to power. Turn your anger to energy. We shall not be broken by any judgment. We shall appeal, we shall fight lawfully, and we shall win.”
