Outspoken former Aide to former President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan, Reno Omokri is alleging that Kaduna State Governor, Nasir El-Rufai, is capitalising on the misfortune of deposed Emir of Kano, Lamido Muhammad Sanusi II, to Champion his Presidential ambition for 2023.
Omokri stressed that Governor El-Rufai is plotting to win sympathy from Southern Nigerians for his 2023 presidential ambition.
Recall that immediately after Sanusi’s dethronement, El-Rufai offered him two high profile appointments in Kaduna, one of them, the Pro-Chancellor of the State University.
He was, also, not only the first Governor to visit Sanusi in Awe, Nasarawa state, where he was banished to after his dethronement, he was the one who ferried him, his mother and hid three children to freedom after a Federal High Court in Abuja quashed his banishment.
Omokri believes Governor El-Rufai has an ulterior motive with his show of support to the deposed Emir.
The former spokesman took to his verified Twitter handle to disclose his disappointment over the pettiness of Governor El-Rufai, stressing that Sanusi lacks the political clout, will and charisma to convince the South to vote for Governor El-Rufai who has, on several occasions, disrespected the South.
