Wole Olanipekun Takes Up Lecturing At FUOYE, Now Visiting Professor

Legal Education has received a boost as Chairman Body of Benchers, Wole Olanipekun, SAN, has agreed to lecture students at the Federal University, Oye Ekiti, (FUOYE).

This followed his appointment by FUOYE as a visiting Professor of Legal practice.

FUOYE’s  Vice Chancellor, Prof. Abayomi Fasina who announced this during the 7th Convocation ceremony of the institution said the initiative is to boost the human resources of the university and same time help the institution in ranking both international and local.

According to the Vice Chancellor, “Chief Wole Olanipekun is an icon in legal profession whose wealth of experience will be useful for our students and same time serve as a role model to them.

“Olanipekun’s love for the development and advancement for legal profession and education generally is beyond measures. I want my law students to also learn one or two things from him.”

Responding, Olanipekun who received honorary Doctorate degree in Constitutional Law at the event thanked the Vice Chancellor for his giant strides in the institution.

“I gladly accepted to be a visiting professor to FUOYE ,even as from next week I would be available either physically or virtually.

“The future of this great profession lies with the younger generation coming behind, equipping them adequately is must.”

The Senior Advocate of Nigeria who described himself as a child of grace said all his donations to individual, institutions and churches are part of ways to assist humanity.

Talking about the High Court he donated to Ekiti State government in Ikere Ekiti recently, Olanipekun said this gesture is in line with best practices in the world.

He stated that the edifices housing the International Court of Justice, Hague and the Israel Supreme Court were donated by private individuals.

The legal icon announced the sum of N10 million naira for the best 20 law graduates of the institution.

Former Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of First Bank Mr Bisi Onasanya and former Captain of Nigeria National team, Chief Segun Odegbami received honorary Doctorate degrees at the event.
