But Pastor Ike, believed to be one of the senior pastors in the church, in a message on his social media platform WhatsApp,titled “Pastor Bakare and the WEMA BANK – No Case Submission!” said there is no cause for alarm over the indebtedness.
The pastor in the message to some members of CGCC to douse the tension over the loan said Pastor Bakare has spoken about the loan in October 25, 2021 interview granted to Thisday newspapers.
He said Citadel is structured in a way to pay the loan, noting that the said N9bn is being renegotiated.
Part of the message reads “do not Cry more than the bereaved. In any event, NO ONE IS BEREAVED. SO WHY THE NOISE?
“Pastor Bakare and the WEMA BANK – No Case Submission!
“Sometimes, it seems people already have preconceived ideas, pictures, responses or innuendos to give on any issue; most times as a decoy to settle scores, troll on and provide cover for Hatchet Job for some desperados. Ride on.
“Just remember to read Pastor Bakare’s Interview on This Day Newspaper of October 25, 2021, very well to have a credible information and sources for an informed argument.
“Those who read and have heard him pronounce unashamedly and without any duress, but for his well known transparency and accountability culture, times without number, understood that the old building, the landed property and his personal recognition form the basis of the loan negotiation.
“Secondly, there has also been in place a re-negotiated terms of repayment with WEMA BANK, and this is on-going.
“Thirdly, the facility is a structured multipurpose use to pay for itself.
“Nothing has changed from any of these established facts on the ground. So why the noise, why the unfounded cacophony? Save for any other hidden interests, or paid master’s jobs.
“We can only save ourselves unnecessary dissipation of energy to spew tonnes of biles on readily available facts of a matter for those who care to read, know and be objective,” Pastor Ike said.
