Less than a month after the Nigeria Make-believe Industry, Nollywood, lost two out of its best Actors in quick succession – John Okafor and Quadri Oyebamiji – it has been thrown into mourning following the demise of Andy Ikechukwu Nnadi, popularly known as Andy Best.
The Veteran Producer who over the years, made his mark in the industry and became a household name, passed on Tuesday, March 19, in Owerri, Imo state.
He was confirmed dead at a private clinic after battling with an undisclosed ailment.
The late Andy, who holds the chieftaincy title of Akudinanwa, hailed from Umunkwo village in Isiala Mbano Local Government Area of Imo state.
Until his death, he was the CEO of Andy Best Electronic Limited and Andy Best Production, a popular movie production firm in Nigeria.
In the kitties of Andy Best productions are Nollywood movies that include but not limited to ‘The Lion of Africa,’ ‘White Poison,’ and ‘My Father’s Cup’.
His remains were deposited at the Aladinma Mortuary, in Owerri.
Seun Oloketuyi, convener of Best of Nollywood, BON, Awards, who confirmed the demise of the veteran via a post on his Instagram page. Oloketuyi wrote, “Andy Best, a top Nollywood producer and marketer, is dead. “He died in an Owerri hospital today.”
The news of his demise has left many heartbroken as they took to social media to mourn him.
