The Nigeria Movie Industry, Nollywood, has been thrown into mourning following the death of Obinna Nwafor, popularly known as Saint Obi.
The 57-Year old, it was gathered, died of a protracted undisclosed illness which defied treatment, early in the week.
The Actors Guild of Nigeria, AGN, is yet to issue a statement as regards this development. A source said the AGN is on a fact finding tour.
He was an actor, film producer and film director known for his roles in Candle Light, Sakobi, Goodbye Tomorrow, Heart of Gold, Festival of Fire, Executive Crime, and Last Party.
He majored in Theatre Arts at the University of Jos, UNIJOS, and came into the acting scene in 1996, after doing a commercial for Peugeot on Nigeria Television Authority, NTA.
The late thespian has starred in over 60 movies.
In 2001, Saint Obi produced his first movie titled Take Me to Maama, where he starred as Jerry, alongside Ebi Sam, Rachel Oniga, Nse Abel and Enebeli Elebuwa.
