The Presidency has refuted the viral report that President Bola Tinubu has removed Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, Mahmood Yakubu, and replaced him with with Professor Bashiru Olamilekan.
O’tega Ogra, the Special Adviser to President Tinubu on New Media and Digital Media dismissed the news as false.
He said the public should disregard any information as regards the removal of Yakubu as INEC Chairman.
“The news is fake, disregard any information claiming that the INEC Chairman has been removed.
“Any information as regards this development will be relayed to the public through the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, SGF”, the statement reads.
