The Nigeria Under-23 team, ‘Dream Team VI’ will face the Junior Bafana Bafana of South Africa in a must win match at the ongoing 2019 Under-23 African Cup of Nations Championship in Egypt to qualify for the Semi-Final.
The coach-Imama Amakapabo team won their second match against Zambian 3-1 on Tuesday, having lost their first match to Ivory Coast last weekend.
The Nigerian Under-23 team must win their third match against the South Africans to keep their hope of clinching the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Ticket.
South Africa already has four points in the kitty, having played a draw against Zambia in their opening fixture before winning their second match against Ivory Coast 1-0.
The outcome of the other match between Zambia and Ivory Coast does not hold any water, as Nigeria needs to get the full three points against South Africa.
Though, if Nigeria draws against South Africa, with Zambia defeating Ivory Coast, Nigeria will qualify on Head to Head rules because Nigeria defeated Zambia.
