This can only be comparable to the biblical duel between Goliath and David. Otherwise, how does one explain that Leicester City would defeat Chelsea FC, in an English FA Cup final that had already been concluded it was Chelsea’s.
Leicester was clearly the underdog. But a 64th minute strike from Youri Tielemens was all Leicester City Football Club of Engalnd needed to lift their first ever FA Cup trophy in history.
The Midland Club Side defeated Chelsea Football Club 1-0 at the Wembley Stadium to become the 44th Club in England to win the prestigious, historic and coveted prize in England football.
Super Eagles of Nigeria duo of Kelechi Iheanacho and Wildfried Ndidi were impressive in the triumph, as both players were outstanding throughout the competition.
Iheanacho was substituted in the second half for James Maddison, while Ndidi played the whole 90 minutes.
The game could have stretched into extra time, following a late Chelsea equalizer courtesy of an own goal by Wes Morgan, but the Video Assistant Referee, VAR, ruled offside, to keep the scoreline 1-0.
With this defeat, Chelsea will be hoping to put up a superlative performance against Manchester City Football Club on May 29, 2021 in Lisbon, Portugal, for the final of the UEFA Champions League.
