Tragedy hit the Nigerian Army, Imo State, and particularly, Owerri Nchi Ise, on Thursday, September 15, 2022, when one of their most gallant officers/sons, Brigadier-General (Rtd) Dom Nneji Nze died suddenly.
Nze slumped and died in Abuja. And even though the cause of death is yet to be disclosed, all efforts to revive him when he slumped were in vain.
A native of Umuororonjo village, Owerri, capital of Imo State, the retired Brigadier-General was of the Course 35th Reg. of the Nigerian Army.
Noted for his courage and gallantry, his Course mates describe him as a fearless and can-do officer. With him, they say, there was no “never” in times of war and/or emergency situations. He was always one of the trusted officers sent to lead from the front.
They, also, describe him as a very loyal, patriotic and distinguished officer.
His patriotism shone like a million stars when some people tried to rope him into a Coup Plot years ago. He was arrested, detained, but was cleared and was immediately released, smelling of roses.
A computer wizard, he was billed to travel to the United States of America when death inexplicably called suddenly.
