The Ondo State Independent Electoral Commission, (ODIEC) has released names of the political parties that will be contesting in the local government election coming up next year.
ODIEC has fixed the council poll for January, 10.
Ten Political Parties Set For Ondo LG Poll
Commissioner in charge of Communication, Media and Information Technology, Tunde Adeleye, disclosed this in Akure.
Adeleye in the statement, stated that “at the end of the screening exercise that took place at the ODIEC HQ last Friday, 10 political parties were cleared to take part in the election for the chairmanship position in the 18 local government areas and councillorship position in the 203 wards of the state.
“The 10 political parties are: All Progressive Congress ( APC), Labour Party (LP), Zenith Labour Party ( ZLP), People’s Democratic Party (PDP), New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP), Social Democratic Party (SDP), Action People’s Party (APP), The Young Progressive Party(YPP), All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA) and Action Democratic Party(ADP).”
According to ODIEC guidelines, campaigns by political parties has commenced and will end on January.
