NEC Move To Decentralise Police Operations Due To Insecurity

The National Economic Council presided over by the Acting President, Yemi Osinbajo, on Thursday commenced the process that may eventually lead to the decentralisation of the operations of the Nigerian Police Force as one of the ways to tackle insecurity in the county. A meeting of the Council of State presided over by President Muhammadu Buhari is currently holding inside the Presidential Villa, Abuja.  Although, all living past Presidents and Heads of Government are members of the Council, former President Goodluck Jonathan, former President Shehu Shagari and former military dictator, Ibrahim Babangida are absent.
