No fewer than 35 miners are feared dead following suspected leakage of a highly poisonous gas at a mining site in Zurak Wase Local Council of Plateau State .

According to locals, the victims along side others working at the site were  believed to have been exposed to the toxic emissions from the leaked gas cylinders, resulting in the instant death of about 35 persons, with several others at some risks.

The unfortunate incident has sent huge shock wave across the host community of the mining site, as well as neighbours who decried the growing hazards associated with most of the illegal mining activities in some parts of the State.
