The immediate past governor of Imo State, His Excellency, The Rt. Hon. Emeka Ihedioha, says he was rudely shocked by the Supreme Court judgement which removed him from office as governor.
In a unanimous judgement on Tuesday, January 14, Ihedioha was removed from office.
In his first official reaction to the sack, Ihedioha described his sack as unfair and unjust.
He totally disagreed with the verdict which replaced him with APC’s Senator Hope Uzodinma.
Following is his statement where he spoke his mind, and thanked Imo people for giving him and his Deputy, Engr. Gerald Irona, the opportunity to serve them.
I address you today, following recent developments affecting our dear state, and in particular the Supreme Court judgement of 14thJanuary 2020.In my relationship with you as Governor of Imo, I had employed regular consultations and dialogue as a tool of political discourse. This informs this course of action.
Imo bu nke anyi.
Rt. Hon. Emeka Ihedioha, CON.
