The Super Eagles of Nigeria will file out against the Indomitable Lions of Cameroon in the Second leg of their International Friendly encounter at the Wiener Neustadt Stadium in Vienna, Austria.
Last Friday, the Indomitable Lions defeated the Coach Gernot Rohr team 1-0, courtesy of Zambo Anguissa strike to record its first victory over the Nigerian team in over a decade.
Prior to last week’s encounter, the Super Eagles defeated Cameroon 3-2 in Round of 16 tie at the 2019 African Cup of Nations in Egypt.
Both teams were in the same group enroute to the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia, with the Super Eagles winning 3-0 in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State, and recording a 1-1 draw in Yaounde, Cameroon Capital.
Cameroon is the host of the 2022 African Cup of Nations, and is testing running its squad ahead of the tournament.
The ‘revenge match’ is to commence 5pm Nigeria Time.
Coach Rohr will be without William Troost Ekong and Jamilu Collins whom he both lost to injury in the first leg of the pulsating friendly encounter.
He is, however, planning to pair Abdullahi Shehu, Chidozie Awaziem and Victor Ozornwafor in a three man defense formation.
Paul Onuachu, Peter Olayinka and Kelechi Iheanacho are expected to lead the attack, while Moses Daddy Simon is expected to start from the bench.
Team Captain, Ahmed Musa is expected to start today’s match alongside, Francis Uzoho in goal, replacing Maduka Okoye in goal, with new invitees also having a chance to make their debut.
The friendly matches are a dress rehearsal for Qatar 2022 FIFA World Cup Qualifiers scheduled to commence later in the year.
