Stanford Onyirimba, Former Majority Leader, IMHA, Dies

Imo State has just lost one of its prominent sons.

Honourable Stanford Ezenwa Onyirimba is dead.

His death was made public in the evening of Friday, March 11, 2022 by shocked and devastated political associates

Born on May 22, 1959, Onyirimba was an Economist, Politician and Administrator. He was the Majority Leader of the Imo State House Of Assembly, from 1999 to 2007.

A former member of the People’s Democratic Party, PDP,  Onyirimba and 22 other prominent PDP politicians from Okigwe zone, on May 11, 2021, defected to the All Progressives Congress, APC, and were received by the State Governor, Senator Hope Uzodinma.

He was, also, at a time, a Commissioner on the Imo State Oil Producing Area Development Commission, ISOPADEC.

Married to Chinyere, with whom he had kids, Onyirimba was the Managing Director of Willoughby Nig. Ltd.

A grassroots politician, he had, a couple of times, harbored an aspiration to be the Governor of the State.
