“You Are Only Driven By Your Selfish Interests”  Tambuwal Knocks Them

Immediate past  Governor of Sokoto Senator Aminu Tambuwal, has dismissed the gale of high profile defections to the ruling All Progressive Congress APC ,in the North West region as inconsequential.

Tambuwal described the defectors as those who are out of touch with the reality of the suffering of the people, and are only being goaded by selfish interests.

Tambuwal’s comment comes on the heels of the defections of former Governor of Kaduna State, Malam Ramalan Yaro, former Senator Shehu Sani, and about 39 other chieftains of the Peoples Democratic Party PDP, Labour Party LP ,and other parties to the APC ,on Saturday ,15,2025 in Kaduna.

At a ceremony to receive the defectors, Governor Uba Sani, assured the new APC members ,of equal treatments with others ,who have been with the party since formation

Speaking at the ceremony which took place at the Murtala Square in Kaduna ,the State Capital, the Governor also told the defectors to assure their supporters of the readiness and commitment of the party to fully integrate them into its fold .

“Someone who joins APC today and the one who has been a founding member ten years ago, are of the same status.

“They  will enjoy the same fights and privileges. In  2027, due to its  popularity and acceptability of its leadership,at both the states and Federal levels ,the electorate will vote for APC ,in all the elections from top to bottom.

“At the top, our leader President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, will be re-elected . At the state level, the party will be voted for in the gubernatorial, National and State Assembly elections” he stated .

Also among the defectors were former Senators Shehu, Sani, Suleiman Hunkuyi, Sani Shaaban ,and Abubakar Mustapha, a former National Organizing Secretary of the PDP.

But in an interactive session with the media in Kaduna on Saturday, shortly after the PDP Zonal meeting, Tambuwal, a former Speaker of the House of Representatives, insisted that political actors that pitch tent with the APC, going by the abysmal performance of President Tinubu, are simply being insensitive and conscienceless.

Referring specifically to the Kaduna defectors and others in the region of recent, the former Sokoto  State Governor, noted that majority of them are  driven by a desperate search for  rehabilitation, rather  than the interests of the people they are claiming to represent .

According to him, no politicians ,in tune with the ongoing excruciating experience being passed through by the people, will attempt to join the APC, not to talk about celebrating same as being done by some in the North West.

“If you are a politician, with a conscience, you wouldn’t join the APC, given the current economic hardship and the poor performance of the Tinubu’s administration.

“There is nothing appealing in the APC beyond personal benefits. Those of us who believe in this country and in service to the people must come together to ensure that by 2027, we remove this administration that has failed Nigerians”, Senator  Tambuwal stated.

For the records, Tambuwal, who now is criticising defectors, was one of those responsible for the downfall  of PDP in 2015. As Speaker of the House of Representatives, he, Atiku Abubakar, Bukola Saraki, Rotimi Amaechi, and others, inexplicably, dumped PDP for APC. Some of them, including Tambuwal, came back to PDP after APC literally showed them the bitter side of politics.
