Seyi has recently been in the news for the wrong reasons.

Just last month, the president’s son was trenchantly criticized for flying one of the aircraft in the Presidential fleet to watch a golf match in Kaduna state.

He should have used one of those owned by his father, including a Global Express XRS which Tinubu allegedly acquired for $50 million, the same type owned by Forbe’s richest man in Africa Aliko Dangote, business moguls Folorunsho Alakija and Mike Adenuga Jnr.

The president’s son is not one of the government officials empowered to use presidential jets, critics of the government say, particularly when he’s not on official government assignment.

Yesterday’s outburst by the president, close watchers of the Presidency say, will further add to Seyi’s controversies since his father swept to power in May this year.

The president’s son is not a member of the council. Apart from the president other members of the council includes the vice president, Secretary to the Government of the Federation, SGF, Ministers and other  top aides of the president.

Speaking during the council meeting yesterday, President Tinubu lashed out at those who he said gatecrashed into the meeting even when they are not members.

He has therefore directed George Akume, the SGF to ensure that only designated members of the council attend the FEC meeting.

“Last week I noticed the undue access of people sneaking in and out of this council, including… I saw the photograph of my son, Seyi, sitting behind… That is not acceptable.

“I will announce to you those people who are supposed to be here.

“Hadiza Usman, special adviser on policy coordination, Bayo Onanuga, special adviser on information and strategy, Hakeem Muri-Okunola, principal private secretary and Damilotun Aderemi, private secretary.

“These are the people who are granted the exception to be here when we are conducting the business of the nation. Unless I send for you, don’t come.”
