Several Killed, Others Injured In  Explosives’ Attack On Zamfara Travelers

No fewer than 15 persons were on Wednesday December 4, 2024, feared  dead in an explosion on Dansandau/ Gusau road in Zamfara state.

The Source reports that most of the victims are believed to be travelers along the ever busy  Dansandau/Gusau road ,who were hit by explosives planted by terrorists operating in the State.

Of recent, following the enhancement of military operations against insurgency, the bandits and other criminal elements  resorted to laying mines along some busy roads ,and other vulnerable spots, targeting mostly innocent locals and travelers.

Earlier in the week, reports of mines and other explosive devices laid by terrorists in Maru local Council of Zamfara led to the residents fleeing the area in droves.

Faced with superior fire power and renewed vigour and determination from the military, the terrorists ,are strongly believed to be exploring more guerilla tactics to remain afloat.

Locals on Wednesday revealed several dead bodies that littered the road as a result of the detonation  of some of the  explosives planted by the retreating bandits.

Residents close to some vulnerable spots have relocated to perceived safe areas as  more communities continue to live in fear and apprehension of mines and other explosives devices.

As at the time of reporting, neither the  military authorities ,nor the Zamfara state Government has responded to the development.
