Senate Loses Spokesperson To Tribunal

Senator Dayo Adeyeye,   has lost his seat at the Senate. With that goes his coveted office as the Spokesperson of the Senate.

Adeyeye, APC, Ekiti South, was sent out of the Senate by the Appeal Court, Kaduna Division, on Wednesday.

Adeyeye’s loss is the gain of Senator Biodun Olujimi, PDP.

INEC had declared Adeyeye the winner of the November 23 Senate election. But Olujimi had cried foul. Alleging electoral fraud, she went to the NASS Election Tribunal.

The tribunal found. merit in her case, and declared her the winner. But Adeyeye protested, and appealed.

On Wednesday, the Appeal Court upheld the ruling of the lower Court, and sacked Adeyeye.

Olujimi, a former Deputy Governor of Ekiti state, is returning to the Senate for a second term.
