If you are visiting Rivers State from, Lagos, and the Federal Capital Territory, you need to be well briefed and prepared on the fate that awaits you.

In a bid to protect Rivers  residents from a further spread of COVID-19, the Governor, Nyesom Wike,  has stigmatized such persons, and asked residents to be wary of them.

He asked residents to place such people in isolation for 14 days. Failure to do so, he warned them, is an invitation to the Virus to spread the more.

Paulinus Nsirim, the State Commissioner for Information, communicated Wike’s message in a statement he issued in PH on Wednesday.

With the resumption of interstate travels by land, sea and air transportation, the Governor asked the people to be extra cautious.

Wike, as quoted by Nsirim: “The commencement of interstate travels and domestic flights, will increase the influx of persons from the most affected areas, especially, Lagos, and the Federal Capital Territory, and aggravate the risk of transmission of the Virus in Rivers State.

“Let me, therefore, appeal to residents to be cautious of relations, friends, business/social partners and visitors from such states and relate with them in conformity with the established protocols against the spread of this virus,  including having them isolated for 14 days.”
