Rhodes-Vivour: Obi Endorsed My Defection To ADC

A former governorship candidate in Lagos state, under the platform of the Labour party, LP, says Peter Obi was aware of his defection to the African Democratic Congress, ADC.

The politician dumped his former party for the ADC last week, a decision many said was in preparation for the 2027 election.

Obi, the 2023 LP presidential candidate has not openly duped the party even though he has been associating with the ADC lately, fueling suggestions that he may move out of the LP anytime soon, due to the protracted leadership crisis rocking the LP.

Rhodes-vivour came second in the governorship election in the state, during the 2023 election, and those close to him said he’s already gearing up to throw his hat in the ring for a second time, in his quest to become the chief executive of the State of Excellence, as the state is widely known.

The former gubernatorial candidate is planning to achieve his aim in the ADC, the party recently adopted by key opposition leaders in the country to unset the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC from power in 2027, according to political analysts who spoke on the issue.

Rhodes-Vivour, while speaking on a Channels Television programme Politics Today said his defection to the ADC enjoyed the backing of Obi, saying he’s in close contact with the former LP presidential candidate, who political interest and strategy align with his own.

“There is no step I am taking that he (Obi) is not aware of,” he said.

Recall that Rhodes-Vivour came second I n the last governorship election in the state, behind the incumbent, Babajide Sanwo-olu of the APC.
