“Religious Night Vigil Should Be Stopped, Turned To Night Shift For Productivity” – Peter Obi

“I go to Church and I believe in God. But we can’t have it that people, Monday to Friday, be in Church morning and night – Obi”

Given a chance, there are two things Peter Obi, Nigeria’s main opposition voice and Presidential Candidate for the Labour Party in the 2023 Election will demystify.

They are politics and Church.

A combination of the two, Obi said, is dangerous for Nigeria. Between the two, Nigeria has been rendered unproductive.

Obi, a staunch Roman Catholic and an unrepentant supporter of the Church and all religious activities admitted that both the Church and politics are attractive, but need to be “dismantled.”

In snippets from “Honest Bunch Podcast” shared with Nedu, a Media Personality, Obi said, for instance, that night vigil should be turned into night shift to make people productive.

He, also, lamented  a situation where from Monday to Friday, people are in Church, morning and night, and pointed out that everywhere one goes to, the only sign boards one sees are those of Churches.

Obi: ” It’s attractive, politics and Church, but it has to be dismantled.

“We are going to turn night vigil into night shift so that people can be productive.

“I go to Church and believe in God  but we can’t have it that people, Monday to Friday, be in Church morning and night.

“If I go from here to my house, the only sign boards you see are those of Churches.

“That’s not a country”, he lamented.
