Billionaire husband of Regina Daniels, Ned Nwoko, was spotted in Antarctica with World youngest girl to ski in Antarctica, thereby making history as the first Nigerian to plant the Nigerian flag in Antarctica in his bid to carry his Malaria eradication campaign to the ends of the earth.
Nwoko, a 58 years old adventurous man with a teenage heart, was sported with the Australian teenage girl, Jade Hameister, and Captain Giles Harding. Neither of them is a stranger to Antarctica.
Nwoko was recently seen with his young actress wife, Regina Daniels, painting and smearing mud on each other in a romantic outing. But Regina could not follow him to Antarctica.
“Join me as I embark on the much-awaited expedition to Antarctica in pursuit of anti-malaria vaccine and eradication of malaria in Africa. It’s very sad though that Regina could not make it as originally planned as she was hospitalized”, he posted on his Instagram page.
“Today, I finally made it to the coolest, lowest point of earth and the largest wilderness on the planet.
“We’re live in Antarctica! I’ll be meeting with the various research stations to see how we can partner on the eradication of malaria in Africa.”
Nwoko has been at the forefront of eradicating Malaria through his Ned Nwoko Foundation. He is using the trip to draw attention to the scourge of Malaria in Africa. Although mosquitoes exist in all parts of the world, it is only the African species that carry the Malaria Parasite.
Nwoko’s trip was via the cape of South Africa, after being tutored on the rigorous trip by experts.
“Malaria is majorly African problem. If you understand that, then you will comprehend why there is no concerted effort to find a permanent cure to it… There is no family in Nigeria that has been spared. No family that has not lost some loved relatives”, he said in Cape Town before take off.
Nwoko, a former member of the House of Representatives who failed in his bid for the senate, has a two-pronged approach to malaria eradication which involves fumigation of Africa. He also funds research endowments for a malaria vaccine in five African universities to the tune of $750,000, with each university receiving a research grant of $150,000.
