President Bola Tinubu may have bowed to calls by Nigerians that he should rejig his cabinet.

The team, assembled last year immediately after the inauguration of the administration, has received commendations and knocks from Nigerians that see some of the members as a square peg in a round hole.

Aside the former Minister for Humanitarian Affairs, Dr. Beta Edu who was made to step aside, following allegations of financial impropriety against her, other Ministers have been up and doing but to some Nigerians their efforts have not imputed meaningful development, especially in the face of the harsh economic policies.

Some of the Ministers have been accused of living ostentatious lifestyles while the populace continues to groan under high cost of living, especially foods and fuel. Some have been very ineffective.

Tinubu, on Wednesday, indicated his intention to reshuffle his cabinet.

The Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, made this known, while briefing State House correspondents on the activities of the President towards redefining the wellbeing of Nigerians.

He, however, said he did not know the exact time the reshuffle would take place.

Speaking on the performance of the present administration, Onanuga said, “The President has given an order to all his Ministers at the last Federal Executive Council meeting to go out there and speak about the activities of his administration.

“Some of them have been Media shy, television shy, radio shy, and he wants them to overcome all that and go out there and speak about what they have been doing.

“Because the feeling out there is that government is not doing enough and the government has been doing a lot. And it is up to them to go out there and blow their own trumpet. They should go out there and talk about what their ministries have been doing.”

Mr. Onanuga also disclosed that TETFUND Act would be amended, to allow the transfer of 30 percent of its financial allocation to the Education Loan Fund to sustain the agency.
