They were abducted Sunday afternoon at Isuochi, Umunneochi, Abia State, on their way back from a Church program.

It is the most high profile abduction, so far, in the history of abductions in Nigeria.

However, the abductors, according to a letter of appeal by the Church, have made contacts, and asking for a whopping N100m.

In a letter of Appeal addressed to all Archbishops and Bishops, and signed by the Rt. Rev. (Dr) Michael Akinwale, Secretary of Conference, the Methodist Church, Nigeria, is appealing for donations to release the high profile abductees urgently.

The Church described the period it has found itself as “This is a period of trial in which the Church must cry out that ‘The Lord that answereth by Fire’ must be our God to destroy all the manipulations of the Adversary. Let us all arise and cry out to the Lord!”

The letter added: “As we engage in Prayer Warfare, this serves to notify you that the Abductors have demanded a ransom of N100m.

“In view of the urgency and the dire need to arrest the situation for the safety of our Prelate and other abductees, it has become imperative to seek your URGENT RESPONSE to raise the N100m ransom.”
