Olufemi Ajadi, former Governorship Candidate of the New Nigeria Peoples Party, NNPP, in Ogun State, have resigned from the Party.

Ajadi dumped the NNPP for the embattled Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, saying the move is strategic and a  patriotic step to rebuild Nigeria’s unity and restore national hope.

Ajadi formally announced his resignation from the NNPP on Monday at a Press Briefing.

He sent the copies of his resignation letter to the NNPP Ward Chairman, the Party’s Ogun State leadership, and its National Executives.

Explaining his defection, Ajadi said the move followed “deep reflection on Nigeria’s political trajectory and the need to operate within a broader platform capable of driving meaningful national transformation.

“My decision to join the Peoples Democratic Party is both strategic and patriotic,” he stated. “I have great respect for the NNPP and what it stands for, but at this point in Nigeria’s history, I believe the PDP offers a wider and stronger platform for national reconciliation, youth empowerment, and true federalism.”

It would be recalled tha Ajadi contested the 2023 Ogun State governorship election under the NNPP after stepping down as a Presidential Aspirant in support of Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, emphasised that his departure was guided by conviction rather than conflict.

Speaking further, Ajadi said, “There is no bad blood between me and my former party.

“I remain grateful for the opportunity to have served under its banner.

“However, as Nigeria continues to grapple with economic hardship, unemployment, and leadership challenges, it is time for like-minded patriots to close ranks and rebuild trust in governance.”

He expressed confidence that his defection would strengthen the PDP’s grassroots mobilisation and reawaken public confidence in the nation’s political process.

“This is not just about party politics,” Ajadi added.

“It is about rekindling Nigerians’ faith in democracy and ensuring that our people feel the real dividends of good governance.”

Ajadi pledged to work closely with PDP leaders at all levels to promote transparency, peace-building, and inclusive governance, reiterating his long-term commitment to national unity and public service.

The Minister of State for Petroleum Resources (Gas) Ekperikpe Ekpo,  has disclosed that by next year, the100,000 metric tons of methanol being produced this year by a Chinese firm in Ondo state will increase  to the estimated 500,000 metric tonnes.

This minister stated this on Monday while on a Site Tour and Project Inspection of the Chinese firm, SuperTech Methanol & Ammonium Bicarbonate Plant, located Ondo-Linyi Industrial Hub, at Omotosho in Okitipupa local government area of the state.

The Minister, who was accompanied on the tour by top officials of the NNPCL and key stakeholders in the gas industry, explained that production  of 100,000 metric tons per annum of Methanol and 160,000 metric tons per annum Ammonium Bicarbonate is historic in Nigeria.

Ekpo pointed out that the Chinese plant at Ondo-Linyi industrial hub is a clear testament to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, which envisions a Nigeria where gas serves as both the backbone of industrial growth and a catalyst for job creation, innovation, and sustainable development.

According to him,President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is delighted with the take off of first ever Nigeria’s Methanol and Ammonium Bicarbonate factory in Ondo state established by a Chinese company to boost local production of Chemicals and Fertilizers in Nigeria.

He said, “Moving around and seeing the kind of investment that has come into this place ‎is encouraging that they are taking advantage of our natural gas resources to produce methanol and ammonium bicarbonate.

“Henceforth, as I gave a charge to the representative of NNPC in that office, upstream production should take advantage of the methanol from here so as to enhance the growth of this company.

“‎And I believe Mr. President (Bola Ahmed Tinubu) will be happy with what is going on here, that people are taking advantage of our natural gas resources to develop the economy of the nation.

“I’m really impressed, and the federal government will give them all the necessary encouragement to make sure that these projects move high from where they are producing, I think, 100,000 metric tons to the estimated 500,000 metric tons in the year 2026.

“The Supertech Methanol & Ammonium Bicarbonate Plant, Ondo-Linyi Industrial Hub, in Ondo State, is not only the first-ever Methanol and Ammonium Bicarbonate facility in the country, but also a significant addition to our downstream gas value chain, unlocking new opportunities in the production of chemicals, fertilizers, and other industrial inputs that are essential for our manufacturing and agricultural sectors.

“The relocation of this entire plant from China to Nigeria, and the achievement of 100% mechanical completion as of March 2025, speak volumes about the determination, resilience, and technical capacity of the promoters of this project.

“It is a shining example of what is possible when government policy aligns with private sector initiative,” the Minister said.

Also speaking during the tour, the Chairman of Chinese investors, Supertech Chemical Industry, Mr. Yang Jijiang, said “the minister’s visit marks an important milestone in our shared journey to advance Nigeria’s gas industrialization and energy transition agenda.

“Guided by the visionary leadership of the Federal Government and the Ondo State Government, and with the strong support of NNPC Ltd, GACN, and NMDPRA, Supertech has successfully transformed from vision to reality — establishing production facilities with an annual capacity of 100,000 tons of methanol and 160,000 tons of ammonium bicarbonate.

“As a Chinese investor in Nigeria, we at Supertech are proud to contribute to Ondo State’s industrialization drive and the broader economic development of Nigeria.

“We remain committed to creating jobs, transferring technology, and promoting long-term cooperation between our two nations.”

Earlier, the Principal Consultant to the Ondo-Linyi industrial hub, Dr Alexander Ajipe said the Minister’s tour of the project is a moral booster for the Chinese investors in Ondo state.

“As you can see, we have come here to welcome the Hon Minister for Petroleum Resources (Gas), and he has come on a special tour of the  bicarbonate and methanol plants built by SuperTech Nigeria Limited. And of course, this is an achievement that we are so proud of in Ondo State and in Nigeria.

“We are now producing fertilizers here and we are producing methanol. It means that we are not going to rely on importation any longer.”

A few months after he was expelled by the New Nigeria Peoples Party, NNPP, Hon Jibrin Abdulmumin, on Monday November 10, ,2025, announced his defection to  the All Progressive Congress APC .

The Lawmaker representing Kiru/Bebeji Kano Federal Constituency had  in the countdown to the 2023 general elections left APC to join forces with the NNPP and the Kwankansiya Movement.

However, he was expelled by the NNPP, in August 2025  over alleged anti-party activities and failure to observe his financial and other obligations to the party.

In a post on his official site, the  former Director -General of Tinubu Support Group in Kano, informed that the decision to rejoin the APC was a unanimous one by his teeming supporters during a ceremony in Kofa Bebeji on Sunday, October 9.

He also announced the endorsement of the second term ambition of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu by his constituents.

“Today, in a show of solidarity, I was warmly received by thousands of my constituents in my hometown of Kofa, Bebeji, Kano.

“The gathering resolved to leave the NNPP/Kwankansiya, join the APC, and endorse President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for a second term.

“From the beginning, almost 2000 Islamic scholars from my Constituency, have offered special prayers for the President and sought peace, development and progress for Kiru/Bebeji, Kano and Nigeria, altogether”, Hon Abdulmumin stated.

The Source reports that Hon. Abdulmumin had fallen out with the NNPP/Kwankansiya Movement Leadership in Kano owing to his romance with the Presidency,as well as his claim of facilitating the defection of Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso,the Presidential candidate of the party in the 2023 general elections to the APC.

The Kano State Chairman of the NNPP,  Hashim Dungurawa, while announcing the expulsion of Hon Abdulmumin accused him of being ungrateful and non-committal to the interests of the Party, after being offered the platform to realize his political ambition in 2023 .

But while debunking the  allegations, the Federal Lawmakers, thanked the Party for the support accorded him .

South East Changing For Good Under Tinubu

Benjamin Kalu, Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives has asserted that the south east has witnessed improved development change under the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and its Renewed Hope Agenda, RHA mantra. He called on the peoples of the region to appreciate the progress the region has recorded by ensuring that they support Tinubu’s re-election bid in 2027.

Kalu made the remark during  the inauguration of the Renewed Hope Partners, RHP at Ukwa West local government of Abia State, the initiative is expected to be expanded to the 17 local governments in the state soon.

According to the Deputy Speaker, Tinubu’s achievements in the south east include the construction of gas pipelines across the zone, establishment of the South East Development Commission, SEDC and the construction of the Port Harcourt- Maiduguri rail corridor, saying these programmes will be consolidated if President Tinubu is returned to office, urging the zone to support him.

He stressed that the president is re-writing the story of the region through infrastructure, appointment’s of people of the region to his government, inclusiveness saying the zone has taken back its place in the country.

Kalu: “The story of the South-East is changing and it is changing for good. Under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, our region is beginning to feel the touch of inclusion, investment, and renewed hope. From infrastructure to appointments, from industry to innovation, this administration is deliberately ensuring that the South-East takes its rightful place in the national journey of growth.

“Let me now highlight some of the concrete steps this administration has taken that speak to the renewed commitment to the South-East and its people.

“Regional Growth Drive & Infrastructure South East Development Commission (SEDC) was fully established (July 2024) with a governing board and management team. SEDC will drive a $1 billion regional asset base under the “Triple-R” agenda.

“President Tinubu approved the ₦150 billion South-East Investment Company (SEIC) under the SEDC to fast-track industrialization across the region. The Eastern Rail Line (Port Harcourt–Maiduguri corridor): connecting Aba,-Onitsha, Enugu and Nsukka, expected to unlock over ₦50 billion annual trade.

“The Lekki-Aba–Onitsha–Maiduguri Road Corridor under federal focus are for logistics and commerce.

“Federal housing under Renewed Hope Cities & Estates. Abia’s site is located in Bende, part of the 100,000 homes nationwide.

“The development of the Anambra Gas Basin, under active federal supervision, has the potential to make Anambra and Abia energy hubs.

“AHL and ANOH Gas Processing Plants expansion in Imo State with 23.3km ANOH–OB3 pipeline, adding 500 million scf/day (≈ 25% increase in national gas supply). NCDMB NOGaPS Industrial Parks are operational in Abia and Imo, enabling local manufacturing of oil & gas equipment.

“Roll-out of the Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) initiative across Onitsha–Aba–Enugu transport routes,” he said.

Kalu recently warned that the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC was prepared to sweep the Governor Alex Otti-led Labour Party, LP government from office.

PFN Knocks  Sultan’s Islamic Council For Denying Christians Genocide In Nigeria

The Pentecostal Fellowship of  Nigeria, PFN has clashed with the Nigerian Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs’, NSCIA over the reported Christian genocide in Nigeria by US President Donald Trump. Sultan Sokoto, the Spiritual Leader of Muslims in the country is the head of NSCIA.

Apart from the PFN, other Christians bodies in the country, including the Christian Association of Nigeria, CAN agreed with Trump that Christians are indeed being killed in their numbers by the insurgent groups who are trying to impose Islam on the country.

PFN President, Pastor Wale Oke said on Sunday, while speaking to journalists in Ibadan, the Oyo state capital that it’s preposterous to deny the killings of Christians by some Islamic terror groups in the country.

According to him, the problem has persisted despite President Trump warning to the Nigerian government to stop the problem, citing some communities in the north where terrorists have attacked in the last few days.

He said most of the communities and people that have been killed are Christians, saying the terrorists have also killed Muslims and adherents of other religions in the country.

“Where is Lea Sharibu? What happened to the Chibok girls? Chibok is a predominantly Christian community in Borno State,” Oke said.

“What is going on in Benue State is still on now? Since Donald Trump cried foul against Nigeria on the matter of genocide, many more people are being killed in Plateau State.”

The PFN President stressed that Christians and Muslims in the country are not at war, saying the two religions worshipers have been living in harmony for years, he however said that’s not to say Christians are not the major target of Islamist trying to imposing Islam on the country.

“We are not accusing the Muslim community, get me clear. We have been living together for a long time, maintaining mutual respect and harmony. It is the violent sect of Islam that is called Boko Haram, ISWAP, and others that use the name of Islam to attack churches.

“Hundreds of churches had been burnt down, tens of thousands of Christians had been massacred. Hundreds of pastors had been butchered.

“It would be a desecration to the blood of these Nigerians to call it any other name. There is not a single instance of a Christian group attacking Muslims. It is always the other way round, “ Oke said.

The NSCIA had after a meeting in Abuja, the nation’s capital on Sunday rebuffed President Trump’s alleged Christians genocide in the country, saying Muslims are also victims of terrorism. The Islamic body  said the current problem of  insecurity is fueled by social economic challenges in the country, saying Christians and Muslims are not at war with each other.

According to the General Secretary of the NSCIA, Prof Ishaq Oloyede, the insurgent groups have inflicted a collective ‘pain’, and that the leaders of the two major religions in the country must work together to tackle the insurgents who targets “us all”.

“We are both Muslims and Christians — victims of a perennial, failed security architecture and a brutal criminal insurgency that targets us all.

“ We have never denied our collective pain. Do not allow foreign political gladiators or domestic separatists to exploit our real suffering to destroy our shared home.

“We, as Muslims, stand with you today against all forms of violence, criminality, and terror. We affirm that in Nigeria, there is no Christian genocide, and there is no Muslim genocide.

“The tragedy in Nigeria is not one of religion but of poverty, climate change, prolonged poor governance, and armed criminals who kill indiscriminately — while sections of the world seek to exploit the situation for geopolitical gain.

“We also urge the Nigerian government to redouble its efforts to protect all citizens, regardless of faith; to defeat the bandits and terrorists; to expose all corrupt instigators of this divisive agenda; and to hold to account any foreign actors working against Nigeria’s unity.

“If the USA truly loves humanity, it should strengthen Nigeria’s capacity to fight banditry and insurgency, not undermine the country with false narratives,” Oloyede said.

Meanwhile, the magazine reported that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu met with the sultan of Sokoto, Sa’ad Abubakar IIl and His Grace, Most Rev. Dr. Ignatius Ayau Kaigama, the Archbishop of the Abuja Catholic last week as part of a wider consultations with religious leaders in the country in the face of the US threats.

Presidency: We Are Wining The War On Terror, 13,000 Terrorists Killed

The Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Presidency has declared that the country is wining the terror war, citing its counter-insurgency operations as being successful so far, as many terrorists and bandits and other criminal elements who took up arms against the country have either been arrested, killed or jailed.

The suggestion that the federal government has not done enough to rein in insecurity in the country, the administration said is far-fetched.

According to the Presidency statement shared on its verified X handle on Sunday,  the successful operations against insurgency was achieved with collaboration with various communities in the country, affected by the activities of insurgents, saying deaths arising from insurgency has reduced tremendously since 2015.

Specifically, the statement claimed that more than 13,000 terrorists have been neutralized in the last one year, over 124,000 fighters and their dependents have surrendered, while over 2.1 million Internally Displaced Persons, IDF have returned to their various communities.  to authorities.

It added  that reconstruction efforts is currently ongoing in previously affected communities affected by insurgency, through the Federal Government’s Resettlement Scheme, FGRS.

The statement stressed that over 124 terrorists and insurgents have been convicted since 2024, while others, including members of the Ansaru leadership and suspects linked to the 2022 Owo Church bombing and the Yelwata (Benue) reprisal attacks, are currently being prosecuted in the court. .

“Since 2023, the Federal Government of Nigeria, through enhanced inter-agency cooperation, has vigorously pursued, arrested, eliminated, or successfully convicted terrorists and insurgents, especially those responsible for some of the most heinous attacks on Nigerian territory,” the statement read.

“As of 2025, Nigeria has witnessed an 81% decrease in terror-related deaths since 2015, a pointer to enhanced counter-insurgency operations and better collaboration between our National security architecture and with affected communities. Over 13,000 terrorists have been neutralised in the past year, and over 124,000 fighters and dependents have surrendered to authorities,” the statement said.

The Presidency’s remark comes after President Donald Trump warning that the federal government had not done enough to rein in terrorism and Christians genocide in the country, saying his country may be forced to take military action against Nigeria, the US leader also stated that his country could be forced withdraw aids and imposed economic sanctions.

George Moghalu, Labour Party, LP, Governorship Candidate has rejected the result of the November 8, 2025 poll in which incumbent Governor Chukwuma Soludo of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) was declared winner by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

Moghalu in an interview with journalists in his Nnewi office on Sunday, less than six hours after the official declaration of results,  said he was dissatisfied with the conduct of the election and alleged that several irregularities occurred during the process.

He claimed that the exercise was marred by what he described as widespread vote buying and reports of underage voting in some areas.

“The November 8, 2025 governorship election in Anambra State, in my view, fell short of expectations. I hereby reject it in its entirety.

“I have contested in previous elections, but this one was different. The level of vote buying was alarming.”

He further alleged that minors were seen in possession of voter cards and that some were allowed to vote.

“Children who were not supposed to be carrying voter cards were openly seen with them and allowed to vote,” he claimed. “These are issues that raise questions about the integrity of the process.”

He also said he received reports from his team that in some polling units the LP name appeared on the ballot paper without the party’s logo, making it difficult for voters to identify the party’s position on the ballot.

Moghalu stressed that he would make a more detailed statement after receiving a comprehensive report from his agents across the state.

“Once I get the full report of the election, we will analyse it and then determine our next course of action. But one thing is clear: I reject the result,” he said.

Also, African Democratic Congress, ADC, governorship candidate in Anambra State, John Chuma Nwosu, has rejected the re-election of Governor Chukwuma Soludo, saying the poll was heavily tainted by open vote buying that robbed the process of credibility.

In a statement personally signed on Sunday, Nwosu described the election as a national disgrace, insisting that the level of financial inducement witnessed at polling units made the exercise anything but democratic.

“I, John Chuma Nwosu (JCN), the governorship candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), hereby categorically reject the outcome of the just-concluded gubernatorial election in Anambra State,” he said.

According to Nwosu, “Cash payments of between N3,000 and N20,000 were openly offered to voters in many areas, turning the contest into a cash-for-ballots affair rather than a genuine test of the people’s will.

“What took place yesterday was a ruse and total subversion of the people’s will, marred by massive vote buying and shameless financial inducement at polling units across the state. By every account, the people have not spoken,” he stated.

He however declined to comment on whether he would challenge the result in court but stressed that no victory could be meaningful if achieved through a flawed process.

“True victory is judged not by the outcome, but by the integrity of the process,” he said.

He argued that any election tainted by corruption and manipulation could never speak for the people, insisting that a flawed process can only produce a flawed mandate.

He also criticised institutions responsible for ensuring electoral transparency, saying their failure had stripped them of the moral authority to announce winners.

“The conscience of our democracy has been wounded. When votes are bought, the future is sold. What we witnessed was not the expression of choice, but the glaring triumph of desperation and greed over the principles of justice and fairness,” Nwosu said.

He maintained that Anambra deserved a better, cleaner electoral experience and noted that his campaign was built on values, transparency, and the elimination of corruption, not on desperation for power.

“This struggle continues. We will not surrender. We will not be silent. Our movement will keep pressing until the people of Anambra can freely choose their leaders without fear or inducement,” he stated.

Nwosu praised his supporters, party members, volunteers, and campaign team for resisting intimidation and refusing to be bought during the poll.

US President’s Remark Part Of Foreign Propaganda To Destabilize Nigeria – NSCIA

The Nigerian Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs, (NSCIA), has stated that the comment by the United States, (US) President Donald Trump describing Nigeria as a “Country of Particular Concern,” is part of foreign propaganda to destabilize the country.

Speaking in Abuja on Sunday, the National Secretary of the Council, Prof. Ishaq Oloyede, pointed out that the genocide narrative being peddled by the US government is not only false, but politically motivated, and targeted at inciting religious division in Africa’s most populous nation.

He emphasized that there is no evidence to support claims that Nigerian Muslims are persecuting Christians.

The Muslim Ummah clarified that the insecurity ravaging the country is caused by terrorism, criminality, poverty, and the effects of climate change, which have displaced communities and triggered violent clashes over resources.

Prof. Oloyede cited independent investigations, including findings by Amnesty International and global conflict monitors, which concluded that violence in Nigeria does not meet the legal definition of genocide under international law.

Oloyede further claimed that the renewed push to label Nigeria a religious-persecution zone intensified after Nigeria reaffirmed its support for a two-state solution in Palestine at the United Nations.

He alleged that pro-Israeli and far-right groups are driving the narrative to divert attention from the humanitarian crisis in Gaza.

The Islamic Council scribe called on Nigerians, both Christian and Muslim, to reject foreign interference and resist attempts to turn genuine security challenges into sectarian conflict.

Oloyede urged the US to withdraw its statement and instead support Nigeria with intelligence and logistical aid to combat terrorism.

“We will not allow foreign interests to fragment Nigeria. We stand for unity, peace, and justice,” he noted.

The Council urged the Nigerian government to strengthen security, identify banditry sponsors, and defend all citizens, regardless of their religious beliefs.

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has described  the November 8, 2025, Anambra State governorship election as a “cash-and-carry democracy” that erodes public trust in Nigeria’s electoral process.

In a statement signed by its National Publicity Secretary, Mallam Bolaji Abdullahi, the party accused the incumbent administration and its political machinery of deploying massive financial inducements to sway voters, alleging that “bundles of naira notes changed hands in full view” at polling units across the state.

The total number of votes credited to the ADC by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) after total collation are less than 3,000.

The party maintained that “What unfolded in Anambra was, regrettably, a cash-drenched spectacle that was more of a bazaar than an election. This undermines the very essence of democracy.”

The ADC expressed dismay over what it called the “silence and inaction” of key institutions charged with ensuring the integrity of the electoral process.

It alleged that security operatives looked away as voters were harassed and compromised, while some electoral officials appeared “overwhelmed or indifferent.”

The party warned that if the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and relevant authorities fail to address these lapses, Nigerians should brace for a troubling precedent heading into the 2027 general elections.

“If this is the manner in which INEC intends to conduct the 2027 general election, then Nigerians have every reason to be worried about the future of our democracy,” the statement added.

Reaffirming its commitment to clean and credible politics, the ADC emphasized that leadership should be earned through “integrity, inclusion, and service — not through the crude exchange of cash for votes.”

Chioma Ifemeludike, African Action Congress, AAC, Candidate at the just concluded Anambra State Governorship Election has described herself as a winner, despite her 292 Votes at the polls.

The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, had declared the incumbent Governor, Chukwuma Soludo of the All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA, winner of the election with 422,664 votes. His closest rival, Nicholas Ukachukwu of the All Progressives Congress, APC, got only 99,445 votes.

Ifemeludike, in a post shared on X on Sunday, said her modest tally represented a symbolic victory rooted in principles rather than political machinery.

“Integrity stands firm and higher than political deception. I’m a winner!” she wrote.

Ifemeludike, who gained significant online attention during the campaign for her unconventional photos and videos, said she was satisfied with her performance and noted that her campaign was conducted without malpractice.
