You Will Pay N10bn If You Insult Me On Twitter, Facebook-Pastor Ibiyeomi Warns Netizens

, Pastor David Ibiyeomie

The general overseer of Salvation Ministries, Pastor David Ibiyeomie has warned netizens to stop insulting him on social media. The Rivers state based pastor said anyone who cast aspersion on him from now on will be arrested and charged to court to pay at least “N10 billion” fine.

He also threatened to arrest the parents of anyone who insults him, so as to serve as deterrence to others who may want to tow the same line of action.

Ibiyeomi is regarded by many as a controversial man of God due to some of his comments on salient public issues. Just few months ago, he said only poor people keep their telephone on during church service.

He said, “Anyone whose phone rings in church is a poor man; his thinking is poor. Rich people don’t switch on their phones in church because they don’t want anybody to disturb them.

” But poor people switch it on because they want alert; It is a sign of poverty. You will never see a wealthy man switch on his phone in church, he will say,” I want to hear something that will help improve my life. But the poor will say, “make I see weda somebody go send me money”. It is a poverty mentality. You are in a church where the poor come and become wealthy.

“Off your phone but if your phone rings you have signed up for poverty. Your mentality is poor, it’s not money in your pocket yet. Somebody say I hear.”

Also, he once drew the ire of not a few Nigerians after he threatened to kill Dr Freeze, a radio presenter for allegedly insulting Bishop David Oyedepo of the Living Faith Church aka Winners Chapel. The 59-year-old pastor studied under Bishop Oyedepo’s tutelage before establishing his ministry in 1997.

Warning Freeze then he said, ‘If he insults me, I won’t mind; but insult Oyedepo, that bastard who is his father? Does Daddy Freeze have a father? That bastard who was born by a Somalian. The day I hear him insult Oyedepo again I’ll deal with him’’.

‘‘If he has a father let him show us his father’s picture. Someone they gave birth to in a ship. Does he look like a Nigerian? I curse the day he was born.”

‘‘He is insulting my own father and people are laughing. Anybody may not talk but I will talk. I will never be alive and see somebody insult my father. It is not done. You are not born. I will kill you; I will tear you into pieces. Very soon I will arrest him,’’ Ibiyeomi said in September 2020.

Speaking last Sunday at his church in Port Harcourt, the controversial man of God said he would no longer accept insults from anyone, saying that many netizens are jobless people who take advantage of the social media to verbally attacks others.

He said any one who intrude on his privacy will no longer go scot-free, promising to “arrest you arrest your father, your mother. I lock you up.”

According to him, “All those people who are on their laptop now, who have no work. They won’t listen to what I am preaching. They are waiting for me to say something then they say.

“You won’t hear what I am preaching. Your work is to sit down on the laptop. I’m preaching now, some people on social media.. all they do.. That’s why they are not progressing because all they do is to listen for what I will say so they can misquote me. If you misquote me…, just misquote me; I will fight you spiritually, physically, legally

“I have made up my mind. Nobody on social media insuIt me. I will arrest you arrest your father, your mother. I lock you up. You know the reason? It is because you don’t lock people up, that is why they are joking. It is against ethics to misquote somebody.

“I will take legal action against you. By the time I tell you 10 billion Naira damage, because my capacity is 50 billion. All your life’s savings, you will pay. When somebody misquotes you, don’t take it for granted. Do you know it is against the law for somebody to snap you in public without your permission? Ask lawyers they will tell you.

“You are intruding into my privacy; I sue you. By the time I claim N10 to 20 billion, your father and your mother will come and beg. I will follow you with police, army, prayer, everything. Next time you will learn how to talk.

“If anybody insults you don’t say “church; arrest the person”. Lock the person up, go to court, win the case, let the judges sentence him to imprisonment with green uniform. The person will leave you alone,” Ibiyeomi said.

Flogging Of Train Abductees: APC, Buhari Have Traumatised Nigerians

Kaduna-Abuja Train Victim being Tortured

In reaction to the traumatising video where terrorists were whipping and torturing victims of Abuja-Kaduna bound Train, the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, has expressed distress over the viral video.

At a Press Conference addressed by its National Publicity Secretary, Debo Ologunagba, the PDP said it is “deeply saddened, alarmed and distressed by the video of terrorists mercilessly flogging, inflicting grievous bodily harm, and threatening to sell into slavery and kill traumatised victims of the bloody Abuja-Kaduna train attack who have been held in captivity since March 28, 2022, 120 days today.”

The Party says it was “heartbreaking to watch fathers, mothers, husbands, wives, brothers, sisters, helpless children, compatriots and citizens of Nigeria in captivity and being tortured, brutalised, humiliated and crying in pain, agony and anguish.”

Lamenting the loss of leadership in the country, the PDP said: “This is not politics, this is about humanity and leadership, which leadership sadly and unfortunately is missing in our country at this time.”

Following, the full text of the Press Conference.

Press Conference by the National Publicity Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Hon. Debo Ologunagba, Monday, July 25, 2022, on the Traumatizing Video on the Dehumanizing Treatment Inflicted on Victims of Kaduna/Abuja Train Terrorism Attack.

APC Has Irretrievably Failed our Nation.

“The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) is deeply saddened, alarmed and distressed by the video of terrorists mercilessly flogging, inflicting grievous bodily harm and threatening to sell into slavery and kill traumatized victims of the bloody Abuja/Kaduna train attack who have been held in captivity since March 28, 2022 exactly 120 days today.

“It is indeed heartbreaking to watch fathers, mothers, husbands, wives, brothers, sisters, helpless children; compatriots and citizens of Nigeria in captivity and being tortured, brutalized, humiliated and crying in pain, agony and anguish just because we have the misfortune of being under the All Progressives Congress (APC) government that have proven to be derelict, irresponsible, unconcerned and completely numb to the pains and sufferings of our citizens.

“The emotional toll of this sad incident on the victims, their families and the entire nation cannot be quantified, particularly on the younger generation who witnessed the humiliation of their parents and breadwinners in such gruesome circumstance.

“This will certainly have a generational consequence on the emotional and psychological makeup of our young persons with the possibility of losing faith in our nation and the capacity for empathy.

“Indeed, as a Party, our hearts bleed! The APC government has irretrievably failed our nation. Under the APC, Nigeria is fast sliding into a Hobbesian State where Rule of Law, Order and leadership are absent and where cruel, inhumane and insensitive bunch of human beings in government have abandoned our citizens to killers, terrorists and bandits.

“This disquieting video is a heartrending testament of the reported complicity and failure of the APC government to take decisive actions to rescue the victims since the gruesome train attack in which very promising Nigerians including a 29 years old female medical doctor was brutally killed and others taken captive by terrorists since then.

“It is a painful commentary on the continuing mass killing by terrorists in various parts of our country as well as a confirmation of the agony of hundreds of our citizens including students, who are being tortured and executed in countless terrorists’ dens enabled by the APC government.

“Nigerians can recall how the PDP on various occasions alerted that the APC government has ceded sovereignty over a large portion of our country to terrorists, many of whom were imported into our country by the APC.

“From the video, in a brazen manner, terrorists as non-state actors boldly showed their faces, boasting, admitting and confirming their participation in the Kuje Prison break, some of whom were former prison inmates who were either jailed or awaiting trial for their previous terrorism act against our country.

“Nigerians can equally recall the confession by the Governor of Kaduna State, Mallam Nasir el-Rufai that the APC government knows the plans and whereabouts of the terrorists but failed to act.

“Between 2020 and 2022 about 18,000 Nigerians have been killed by terrorists who continue to be emboldened by the failures and obvious complicity of the APC and to which the PDP had always drawn attention.

“This is not politics; this is about humanity and leadership, which leadership sadly and unfortunately is missing in our country at this time.

“The PDP is appalled by the lame response by the apparently helpless, clueless and deflated Buhari Presidency, wherein it told an agonizing nation that President Buhari “has done all and even more than what was expected of him as Commander in Chief by way of morale, material and equipment support to the military…”

“This is a direct admission of incapacity and failure by the Buhari Presidency and the APC. At such a time, in other climes, the President directly leads the charge and takes drastic measures to rescue and protect his citizens.

“In time of adversity, the President transmutes into Consoller-in-Chief to give hope and succour to the citizens. Painfully, Nigeria does not have a President who cares and can stand as Consoller-in-Chief to the citizens.

“It has now become very imperative for Nigerians to take note and realize that the only solution to this unfortunate situation is to hold the APC government accountable. We must come together as a people, irrespective of our political, ethnic and religious affiliations to resist the fascist-leaning tendencies of the APC administration.

“Our nation must not fall. The resilient Nigerian spirit and “can-do- attitude” must be rekindled by all to prevail on the President to immediately and without further delay, accede to the demand by the PDP and other well-meaning Nigerians to convene a special session of the National Council of State to find a lasting solution since the President has, in his own admission, come to his wits end.”

Insecurity: Buhari’s Indifference Shocking – Yoruba Global Alliance

By Adesina Soyooye

A group, Yoruba Global Alliance, has decried what it termed as the indifference of President Muhammadu Buhari to the unprecedented Insecurity bedevilling the country.

In a statement signed by its National Chairman, High Chief  Tola Adeniyi, and National President, Amos Arogundade  Akingba, the group said: “Nigerians are saddened and depressed that their President in whom they entrusted their safety, security and general well-being could display the unprecedented Indifference to their suffering and haplessness in the face of ceaseless attacks by bandits and terrorists across the country.”

The Group’s strongly-worded statement is a consequence of the hard to-watch viral video  where terrorists who abducted passengers from an Abuja-Kaduna bound Train were seen mercilessly flogging them.

Said the statement: “The video which has gone viral showing the dastardly treatment being meted out to the remaining abductees of the March 28, 2022, train bombardment along Abuja-Kaduna highway calls for immediate action by any responsible Government.”

It asked President Buhari to live upto his reputation as a two-star Army General.

The statement reads in full;

Buhari Must Act Now – Statement By Yoruba Global Alliance

“Nigerians are saddened and depressed that their President in whom they entrusted their safety, security and general wellbeing could display the unprecedented indifference to their suffering and haplessness in the face of ceaseless attacks by bandits and terrorists across the country.

“The Yoruba Global Alliance, a leading Self-Determination Organization along with our allies, the Yoruba Global Congress and the Yoruba Unseen as well as millions of Yoruba people at home and abroad call on Major General Muhammadu Buhari to live up to his reputation as a 2-star General to take immediate action to redeem his image.

“The video which has gone viral showing the dastardly treatment being meted out to the remaining abductees of the March 28, 2022 train bombardment along Abuja-Kaduna highway calls for immediate action by any responsible government.

That some rag-tag jackals in human form could descend to this abysmal fiendish bestiality and inflict punishment by flogging their victims shows to what extent terrorists in Nigeria disregard the government and security agencies in the land.

“What is it that has tied the hands of the security agencies? The entire areas where terrorists are holding sway are located in plains or Savanah grassland where there are no thick bushes or forests. Government has on many occasions admitted they know the locations of these bandits. They know their phone numbers. They know their leaders. Dr Gumi and ‘Jihadist’ El-Rufai are their liaisons.

“It is unfortunate that Nigeria would allow their citizens to wallow in captivity right on Nigerian soil and governments, state and Federal, would be unconcerned and unsympathetic towards their plight.

“We call on Buhari to imagine for a moment if his only son was among those being gleefully flogged or if his beautiful daughters including stooge Malami’s 3rd wife were among those being bedraggled and humiliated in full glare of the camera. Atiku, Tinubu, Obi, Kwankwaso and other political shadow-chasers who are begging for people’s votes while the same citizenry is going through hell should march to Buhari in Aso Rock and demand an immediate intervention from the President and the Armed Forces he commands as Commander-in-Chief.

“President Buhari can use his executive powers to immediately flush out all the imported terrorists stationed in targets across the country, allow for immediate establishment of state police, stop the nonsensical ideas of RUGA and Water Bill, ban Okada operations throughout the country and perish the ruinous scheme of ethnic cleansing with view to handing over indigenous nationalities ancestral lands to some foreigners. If he can do these few things, his 7-year-old sins will be written off.

“The horrendous humiliation, degradation and tortuous inhumanity which has pervaded the country’s entire landscape should stop.

“We wish to remind General Buhari that all those flatterers, court jesters, sycophants and political jobbers milling round him and deceiving him will not be there with him on the Day of Judgment. The Holy Qur’an and the Holy Bible say so. In fact, come May 30 2023, they will all disappear into thin air!

“Our President’s name is Buhari, nobody should rename him Nero at age 80.”

Bandits Release Three More Abducted Train Passengers

By Adesina Soyooye

After the horrifying and heartbreaking whipping of the ill-fated Abuja-Kaduna Train Passengers seen in a video released on Sunday, their abductors have released three more of the Passengers.

The haunting video showed the bandits mercilessly whipping their victims. There were children amongst them. Thereafter, the bandits boasted that they would abduct President Muhammadu Buhari and the Governor of Kaduna State, Nasir El-Rufai, take them to the forest and slaughter them.

The Presidency reacted to the outrage by saying the President had done even more than is required of him as the Commander-in-Chief to equip the Military to do its job.

Far from being clueless, the Presidency said, the Military is capable of bombing the location of the bandits, but is conscious of the collateral damages. The Passengers, it said could, also, be wiped out.

However, 24 hours later, the bandits released three more of the Passengers – two men and a woman.

It is not known the circumstances behind the recent release, but it is alleged that those that had been released, paid N100m each.

A relation of one of the three released told the BBC Hausa Service that the three released Passengers were now in a hospital for necessary health care.

The Train Passengers were abducted on March 28, 2022.

No Hand In Oziza FM Closure, Says Imo State Government

0
Hope Uzodimma

The Imo State Government has denied responsibility in the shutting down of a local radio station operating in Owerri by the National Broadcasting Corporation (NBC).

The Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Hon Declan Emelumba, said all inquiries as to why Oziza FM was closed indefinitely should go to the NBC.

He described as unfortunate and unfounded the wild allegation by Chief Uche Onyeagucha that the Government   was responsible for the closure of the Station.

” First of all, I am shocked that a Lawyer of Uche Onyeagucha’s  standing doesn’t know that there are rules governing the operation of broadcast media and that the regulatory body has power to sanction any station that runs foul of the rules,” Emelumba said.

He added that Onyeagucha should have remembered that sometime in February this year, the NBC slammed the same Osiza FM for employing a quack as one of its presenters.

“There was no Awo Omama incident that time so it is fatuous for Onyeagucha not to see a link  between the February sanction of the radio station and its present ordeal,” he explained.

According to him, if Onyeagucha was one of those who goaded the station to breach the rules, they should bear the consequences instead of making the State Government the scapegoat and linking it to the Awo Omama incident.

He noted that the State Government has no power to regulate the conduct of the press let alone gag them.

Said he: “It is either the man is ignorant or mischievous because the laws are there to regulate the conduct of the press and media practitioners. Governor Hope Uzodimma didn’t make those laws.”

The Commissioner regretted that Onyeagucha who is of the opposition PDP has found it convenient to disparage the name of the State Governor at every point.

According to Emelumba, while it was understandable that the emergence of Uzodinma as Governor led to Onyeagucha’s ouster as Secretary to the Government, he ought to have moved on and adjusted to the reality of his fate instead of constantly engaging in criminal libel against the Government.

Emelumba said blackmailing the Governor to gain cheap political relevance would never win him any election, rather it will continue to expose him as an immature, temperamental and irrational person, unfit to occupy an exalted seat in the red Chambers.

“My sincere advice to him is to concentrate on his already ill-fated campaign instead of the consistent name calling of the Governor. His popularity will be tested at the ballots, not on the number of press releases he churns out against Uzodimma,” Emelumba submitted.

Meanwhile, in a statement, the Management of the Station decried the different inciting speculations over the suspension of the Station, and said that whatever was the reason is being sorted out between it and the NBC.

It, also, denied being owned by the Catholic Church Archdiocese of Owerri as has been erroneously believed. It said it only leased an office within the premises of the Assumpta Cathedral for its operations.

Osun state House of Assembly has commenced the process of transition to the incoming administration in the state.

Tenure of the sitting government expires in November 27, since Governor Gboyega Oyetola lost in the July 16 election to the candidate of the People’s Democratic Party, (PDP), Senator Ademola Adeleke.

To this end, the State House of Assembly on Monday commenced the process with the State of Osun Transition Bill 2022.

The Speaker, of the Assembly,  Timothy Owoeye, during plenary, presented a private member bill drafted by him tagged ‘State of Osun Transition Bill 2022’ signaling the commencement of hand-over of power from the All Progressive Congress (APC) to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

The Bill, which passed through its second reading, is aimed at a seamless transition from one government to the other on November 27, 2022 when the state will have the Governor-elect, Senator Ademola Adeleke at the helm of affairs of the state.

Owoeye explained that the bill, which he described as novel, when passed into law, will allow for a comprehensive and practical arrangement to regulate, in accordance with the law, the transfer of political power following an election to the office of the Governor.

The Bill quoted in part, “The bill when passed into law, will ensure the provision of daily state of the state briefing for the person elected as Governor during the period before the assumption of the office by the person elected as Governor.

“It will also ensure that salaries, allowances, facilities, privileges and the retiring benefits or awards as determined by the Public Service Rules, which are due to the holders of respective political offices are paid or accorded to those persons without undue delay; and to undertake any other function which will enable the team to achieve the object of this bill.

“For the purposes of this Bill, the Team shall first meet not later than 14 days after the declaration of the result of the gubernatorial election.

“The decision of the team shall be arrived at by consensus, but where the member fail to agree on an issue, it shall be referred to the Advisory Council for the expedition determinations of the issue.

On the issue of the handing over notes, “The office of the Governor shall prepare a set of comprehensive handing over notes covering the period of office of the Governor.”

Cleric Bemoans Conditions Of Nigeria State

Rt Revd Stephen Fagbemi

By Ayodele Oni

The Diocesan Bishop of Owo, in Ondo state, Rt Revd Stephen Fagbemi has observed that Nigeria has found itself in a most unenviable, lamentable and unfortunate state, to the extent that some are beginning to suggest that it is becoming a failed state.

Addressing delegates at the 14th synod of Owo Anglican Communion, holding at Ifon, Ose local government, Rev.Fagbemi said that Nigeria, from governance to economy and various sectors has not really fared well.

The Bishop, who stressed that the insecurity bedevilling the country particularly the recent Owo attack at Saint Francis Catholic Church and Abuja-Kaduna train attack, described the incidents as most cruel example of inhumanity against the innocent citizens.

“The attack on innocent worshipers at St Francis Catholic Church, Owaluwa, Owo  is the worst that we have seen and is strange to the system in South West of Nigeria which has left 40 people dead, including men, women and children.”

The Cleric  commiserated with the Government of Ondo State, the Governor, Olowo of Owo, the Catholic Bishop of Ondo Diocese, Most Revd. Dr Jude Ayodeji Arogundade and the entire Christian Community in Owo.

Bishop Fagbemi commended the efforts of Ondo Governrnment in providing leadership and support for the people throughout the painful experience.

He decried the insensitivity of the Federal Government towards the lingering strike embarked upon by the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) which has made the idle students to be vulnerable to crime.

The Clergy advised Nigerians to continue to exercise their rights in peaceful manner without selling their votes for any amount of money.

“Vote buying or selling is a sin. Politicians must not exploit the poverty of people to cheat on their conscience.”

God Directs Ortom To Back Atiku For Presidency

0

By Adesina Soyooye

Benue State Governor, Samuel Ortom, has finally heard from God. And what did God tell him after fasting and praying?

God told Ortom to back the Presidential candidate of his (Ortom’s) party, the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in the 2023 Presidential election, Atiku Abubakar.

In a post on his verified Twitter handle on Monday, July 25, 2022, Ortom wrote:

“I will not contradict @atiku on what he said. He is my candidate and I am behind him.”

On the crisis rocking the party since the Presidential Primary and the choice of Delta State Governor, Dr Ifeanyi Okowa as Atiku’s running mate against Ortom’s favourite choice, Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers State, Ortom wrote:

“Whatever happened in the course of the Primaries and Nomination of the Presidential running mate is now a thing of the past. PDP  is a family and we will always settle our matters in-house.”

Recall that Governor Ortom was the Chairman of the Committee set up by Atiku and the PDP to select a running mate for Atiku. Even though the 17-man  Committee recommended three names – Wike, Okowa and the Akwa Ibom Governor, Udom Emmanuel – Ortom said Wike came first with 14 out of 17 votes.

But Atiku ignored Wike and chose Okowa. Since then, Wike’s camp, which member  Ortom is, has been bitter.

Asked earlier if he would support Atiku, Ortom had said he would embark on fasting and praying for God’s guidance on who to vote for. He said he would decide as as he hears from God.

A couple of days ago, Ortom had praised Peter Obi, the Presidential candidate of the Labour Party, LP, to high heavens. He said Obi has the appropriate credentials for the job.

But on Monday, Ortom finally heard from God. It is Atiku.

How Terrorists Forced Us  To Close Abuja Secondary School – FG

FGC and Adamu Adamu1

By Ayodele Oni

The Federal Government has offered reasons why it shut down Federal Government Girls College, Kwali, Abuja.

The Federal Ministry of Education on Monday ordered the immediate closure of the College located in Kwali Area Council of the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja.

Minister, of Education, Adamu Adamu who gave the directive said the closure became necessary following a security breach on Sheda and Lambata Villages, suburbs of Kwali Area Council, which also threatened FGC Kwali.

According to the Minister, the timely intervention of Security Agencies saved the situation.

Adamu Adamu also directed that arrangements should be made for final year students to conclude their NECO examinations.

The Minister has also directed Principals of Unity Colleges across the country to liaise with Security Agencies within their jurisdictions in order to forestall any security breach in  schools.

Earlier, the Management of the College, had asked parents to evacuate their wards from the school over the fear of attack by terrorists, which has caused panic among the management, staff, students and parents of the school.

Report has it that the school   shares fence with some neighbouring villages which are being attacked by terrorists.

The Chairman, Parent Teachers Association (PTA) of the school, Suleiman Idajili, confirmed attacks on a nearby village on Sunday morning.
