The Inspector General of Police, Usman Baba, has lamented the demise of Assistant Inspector General of Police, AIG, Lawan Jimeta. He said that the Force Management team and officers of the Nigeria Police Force regret his demise.
The IG said Jimeta was a passionate officer and peace lover, who was diligent in his duty and selfless.
AIG Jimeta died in the early hours of Sunday at the University of Benin Teaching Hospital, Edo State, after a brief illness.
In a statement the Police Force, spokesperson, Olumuyiwa Adejobi, said that he was a one-time Director of Peacekeeping, Commissioner of Police in charge of the Police Mobile Force, Edo and Bauchi State Commands, Commandant Police Academy, and was until his death the Assistant Inspector-General of Police in charge of Zone 5 Benin, Edo State.
He said, “The late AIG enlisted into the NPF on March 3, 1990 and was a dedicated officer with a great passion for training and mentorship in the field of security intelligence and peace support operations.
“A philosopher and poet per excellence, he has a collection of poems tagged ‘Songs of the Peacekeeper’ to his credit and has featured on every edition of the police ‘New Dawn Magazine’ as a guest poet.
“The IG acknowledges his ingenuity and commitment to duty. He hereby condoles with the immediate family, relatives, fellow course mates, and friends of the deceased AIG who passed away in active service of his fatherland and prays earnestly for the repose of his soul.”
Jimeta hailed from Jimeta in Yola North Local Government Area of Adamawa State, served in various administrative, investigative, training, and operational capacities during his almost 34 years stint in the policing career.
An elderstatesman, Buba Galadima, has justified the decision of the Central Bank of Nigeria, (CBN) to embark on Naira swap. He also revealed that a serving Governor from the North West allegedly stashed away a whopping N22 Billion old Naira notes.
Galadima, a former National Secretary of the defunct Congress for Progressive Change, (CPC), made the disclosure in a television interview, during which he answered a question on the controversial Naira redesign policy of the CBN.
He, however, did not name the sitting Governor but added “he knows himself and the Security Agents, who may likely be protecting him, know him. Maybe they belong to the same club or they are protecting him”
According to him, this is a confirmation of Government position that some people had stashed the old notes for selfish reason.
“The Government said they are doing this because a lot of people have amassed wealth, the old currency, in their private homes.
“I know a Governor in the North West, from intelligence, has got N22 billion of the old currency stashed in his house.
“For a single person with N22 billion in cash accumulated through corruption and fraud of the system. My worry is the ordinary man from Yobe who has got just one thousand Naira as his capital for him to lose it. That one thousand Naira is his legitimate money.”
The New Nigeria Peoples Party, (NNPP), chieftain pointed out that his party has already taken a strong position on the contentious issue.
Galadima said the CBN Act states that in an event of Naira redesign, it should be done within a period of not less than six months.
The Obi-Datti Media Office has decried the number of completely false stories being bandied on its Presidential Candidate, Peter Obi.
In the run-up to the Presidential election, a number of fabricated stories, aimed at tainting the reputation of Candidate Obi, have surfaced.
The latest is the allegation that Obi gave out a whopping Two Billion Naira to the Christian Association of Nigeria and that a petition has already been written by one Pastor Frank Onwumere of the Dominion Center International, Okigwe, Imo State, asking that a probe be instituted against Obi and CAN.
However, Pastor Onwumere has, in a strongly worded statement, denounced the petition attributed to him, and declared that he neither signed such a petition, nor is he a member of the Dominion Center International, Okigwe Branch.
His statement reads:
“Re: Petition on the misappropriation of N2 Billion given by the presidential candidate of Labour party, Mr Peter Obi to Churches under the umbrella of CAN…”
“My attention has been drawn to a petition with the above subject matter purportedly written by one Pastor Frank Onwumere of Dominion Center International.
“I wish to use this medium to inform the public, my associates, friends and family, that I, Hon. Pastor Frank Alozie Onwumere, did not author the said petition, and did not authorize anybody to do so on my behalf.
“Please be informed that:
I am not a member of Dominion Center International and have never had any relationship with the organisation.
“2. The author of the petition is not known to me.
“Please be assured that it is not in my character to malign any person or institution, let alone revered religious bodies.
“Yours truly,
“Hon. Pastor Frank Alozie Onwumere.”
And, in its own statement, the Obi-Datti Media Office said:
“Recall that on February 6, 2023, the Obi-Datti Media Office acting on credible intelligence alerted the nation of a grand design to fatally injure the high-rising political profile of the Presidential Candidate of the Labour Party, Mr. Peter Obi with what they called a ‘killer punch’ propaganda material.
“We hinted that the so-called ‘killer punch’ will come in various forms, including but not limited to a documentary portraying Obi in various negative lights.
“Circulating in social media this weekend is another blackmail stuff against the LP candidate purported to indicate that he gave out the sum of two billion naira to Christians under the umbrella body of the Christian Association of Nigeria, CAN, Catholic Bishops Conference and the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria to induce them.
The petition is said to have been signed by one Pastor Frank Onwumere of the Dominion Center International based in Okigwe, Imo state. Obi-Datti Media feels the institutions so mentioned in the write-up have enough instruments to tackle such cheap extortion.
“Obi-Datti Media Campaign office knows it as a fact that you cannot be in front of a political competition and not get roughen, especially if you are in the race with morally bankrupt persons.
That is why we will continue to be amused by the desperation of some opponents to search for faults on the front-running Presidential candidate of the Labour Party, Mr. Peter Obi, and the apparent frustration of not finding any
“The LP standard bearer has remained the most searched and fact-checked one among the four top Presidential candidates for obvious reasons. He is the only one running an issue-driven campaign and therefore, provoking intellectual conversations.
“But as Election Day draws nearer and the victory of their ‘unwanted’ Obi looks real, the anger and frustration of some dubious characters have increased.
“We are even beginning to notice some state of despair which is resulting in senseless violence and blackmail all aimed at distracting and removing the candidate’s eyes already glued to the ball.
“Our mission in the Obidient Movement this day is to alert and warn discerning minds, especially those desirous to see a new Nigeria emerge through Peter Obi to ignore and treat as thrash any doctored and faked items on Obi. Anything they are bringing now after their long fruitless search is concocted to tarnish the hard-earned reputation of the candidate and should be disregarded.
“Obi-Datti Media is proud to insist that the LP standard bearer and his running mate remain the best product in the market for the much-needed political leadership in the country at this time. And to state without any fear of contradiction that they stand out untainted and possess the prerequisite qualities needed to rescue this troubled land.
“Indicators from the Obi-Datti strategy room show that many more blackmails have been lined up in the coming days in a desperate move to drag down the man generally accepted as the right man for the job.
“The public should therefore have their eyes permanently glued to the ball and refuse to be distracted by any antics because all the devious acts will give way to reason and justice and Nigeria will be successfully taken back from them and reset for greatness.”
The Presidential Election will hold on February 25, 2023. According to a number of opinion polls, Obi is the leading candidate.
The Assistant Inspector General of Police, (AIG) in charge of Zone 5, comprising Edo, Delta and Bayelsa states, Lawal Tank Jimeta is dead.
He died Sunday morning at the University of Benin Teaching Hospital, Edo State after a brief illness.
Police Public Relations Officer, Bauchi State Command, SP Ahmed Wakil, in a terse Whatsapp message on Sunday, disclosed news of the AIG’s death.
He said: “Inna Lillahi wa inna ilaihi raji’un. With a heavy heart but total submission to the will of Almighty Allah, I wish to announce the death of A.I.G Lawan Tanko Jimeta.
“May Almighty Allah forgive his shortcomings and reward him with aljannatul fiddausi.
“He died at the Teaching Hospital, Benin Edo State, this morning after a brief illness.
“To Allah, we belong and to him, we shall return, a real departure of a Godly man.
“May he give the families the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss, amin.”
According to report, AIG Jimeta is a graduate of English Language from the University of Maiduguri and also a Masters holder in Peace and Conflict Studies from the National Open University.
According to report by the News Agency of Nigeria, (NAN) Jimeta took over as AIG Zone 5, on January 13, 2022.
He served in various capacities in the Nigeria Police Force including as Edo State Commissioner of Police, Bauchi State Commissioner for Police, Personal Assistant to the AIG of Police, Department of Training and Development, FHQ Annex, Lagos State and Chief of Training, Directorate on Peace-keeping, FHQ, Abuja. He also served as the Area Commander, Suleja Area Command.
Impeccable sources close to the All Progressives Congress, APC presidential candidate and former Lagos state governor, Asiwaju Ahmed Bola Tinubu have informed The Source magazine that there is octane anxiety within the camp of the former governor as to the preference of millions of non-Yoruba Lagos voters in the February 25th, 2023 presidential election.
According to one of the sources, “there is mounting concern that votes of millions of non-Yoruba voters in Lagos, especially those of them from the Southeast and South-south may not be for Asiwaju, so to this end “structural” containment of their strongholds is being considered”
Pressed to explain what “structural containment” means, the source revealed that “it means deliberately shutting such areas out in the early distribution of electoral materials”
Another source boasted “that the distribution of electoral materials will be done by us and we will not fail to take advantage of it”
This magazine learnt that the “us” refers to the Musiliu Akinsanya aka MC Oluomo the led Lagos State Park and Garage Management Committee which the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC Resident Electoral Commissioner, REC for Lagos, Olusegun Agbaje, said he will partner for the distribution of electoral materials on the election day rather than the National Union of Road Transport Workers, NURTW which the electoral body has entered an agreement with to move the materials.
Oluomo, an ally of the APC Presidential Candidate was the Chairman of the Lagos chapter of NURTW. However, following the internecine crisis in the state chapter of the union which led to his sack by the national leadership of NURTW and the subsequent proscription of its activities in Lagos by the state government, Oluomo was appointed the General Manager of Parks and Garage Management Committee by governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu.
The magazine was told that part of the plot is to, through the instrumentality of the Oluomo committee, delay the distribution of INEC materials to areas populated by none Yoruba residents perceived as hostile to the APC and Tinubu’s presidential ambition, at least 6 hours behind the official commencement of ballotting.
The idea, it was gathered, is aimed at wearing potential voters out, getting them frustrated and forcing them to return home after hours of waiting thus foisting extremely low voter turnout in such areas.
Parts of Lagos allegedly marked out for this grim treatment, the magazine was told, include Oshodi-Isolo, Mafoluku-Oke Afa, Ijora Badia, Amukoko, Alaba, Surulere, Orile, Itire, Ijesha, Cele, Okota, Ajegunle, Olodi Apapa, Coconut, Ojokoro-Ijaiye, Agbara, Ojo, Okoko, Satellite Town, FESTAC, Mushin, Ojuelegba among others.
As part of this alleged sinister plot, this magazine has equally been told that wanton mayhem may be unleashed on the areas listed above either 24 hours before the balloting or on election day proper by sponsored political thugs to scare eligible voters away from coming out to vote.
Essentially, Agbaje’s insistence on entrusting electoral material to the Lagos Park Committee for distribution as well as his reaction to issues around voters card collection has pitted him against the presidential candidate of the opposition Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar and some civil society groups who accuse him of plotting to rig the elections in Lagos for the APC.
According to Phrank Shaibu, spokesman of the Atiku presidential campaign, “how could such people be given sensitive materials to be distributed across Lagos on election day? This has already undermined the possibility of a free and fair election. INEC must sanction Mr Agbaje for insisting on using MC Oluomo’s committee despite protests from members of the public.
“Recall that it was Mr Agbaje who superintended over the fraudulent and violent Osun governorship rerun which produced Gboyega Oyetola as governor. US Consul General, John Bray was spot on when he stated, ‘We witnessed what appeared to be incidents of interference and intimidation of voters and heard reports of harassment or party monitors, journalists and domestic observers.
Professor Mahmood Yakubu, INEC Chairman: Promises to deliver credible elections.
“Unfortunately, it is the same Agbaje, who could not effectively supervise a rerun in a few polling units that have been given the task of superintending the election in Nigeria’s largest state with over seven million registered voters. The election is doomed to fail if INEC doesn’t do the right thing by removing him”
And reacting to Agbaje’s characterization of the Igbo residing in Lagos whose voters cards were not found as “migrants”, a Christian body, His Word Ministries and Apostolic Round Table, in a statement entitled “Segun Agbaje: Lagos INEC REC; a System-enabled Election Rigger?” and signed by its National President, Dr Bolaji O Akinyemiquerieded, “how can the head of the umpire be the echo of the unreasonable voice of street touts against the Igbos?
Continuing the statement said: “In Segun Agbaje’s mindset the Igbos aren’t citizens of Nigeria in Lagos, but immigrants who must be denied access to rights of citizens in Lagos. Segun has joineforcesce with market touts and Area boys demanding that Alaba traders should return to Onitsha.
“It is dangerous and catastrophic for all Nigerians and political parties to fold their hands and allow the election in Lagos to go on under Segun Agbaje as the head of the umpire”
On its part, Intersociety, a civil society organisation has petitioned INEC chairman, Professor Mahmood Yakubu demanding Agbaje’s removal.
In the petition letter signed by its Board Chairman, Emeka Ugbeagbalasi, the group rued that “apart from genocidally referring to them as ‘South-East migrants’, the REC did not hide his hatred of the South-East residents in Lagos by denying them PVCs under frivolous circumstances.
“As if these were not enough, the REC ended up vicariously, if not directly, inciting native residents preparatory to unleashing ‘Election Day and Post-Election Day’ ethnic cleansing against the South-East residents in the State.
“He also hatefully lied unpardonably by describing the decades-old South-East residents in Lagos as ‘those that migrated and settled in Lagos to escape insecurity in the South-East”
The Nigerian Military has once again reiterated neutrality of its officers and members in the forthcoming polls and as well doused tension over possible military coup.
Tukur Gusau, a Brigadier General and Acting Director, Defence Information, in a statement debunked the purported meeting by some officers with the Presidential candidate of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) Atiku Abubakar sometimes last week.
The allegation of the purported meeting was made by a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Femi Fani-Kayode.
The statement reads “The Armed Forces of Nigeria notes with dismay the story being peddled around by some unscrupulous elements alleging that some military officers met with a Presidential candidate with the aim of disrupting the general elections and setting the country on fire.
“The wicked and very malicious propaganda indicated that a so-called Thursday meeting is plotting a Coup d’etat to establish unconstitutional order.
“The Armed Forces of Nigeria is disheartened that even politically exposed persons can denigrate themselves into joining agents of destabilisation and violence in making false claims just to heighten tension in the polity.
“It needs to be stated that the Armed Forces of Nigeria is a professional military that is loyal to the constitution of the Federal Republic and will never be part of any evil plot against our democracy.
“Besides, the Military remains apolitical and neutral in the current political process and will not engage in the alleged shenanigans.
“The Armed Forces of Nigeria will never be part of any ignoble plot to truncate our hard-earned democracy.
“The Armed Forces of Nigeria hereby warn that those who engage in fabricating and spreading unfounded misinformation will be invited by the appropriate law enforcement agencies to substantiate their claims.”
Legal Education has received a boost as Chairman Body of Benchers, Wole Olanipekun, SAN, has agreed to lecture students at the Federal University, Oye Ekiti, (FUOYE).
This followed his appointment by FUOYE as a visiting Professor of Legal practice.
FUOYE’s Vice Chancellor, Prof. Abayomi Fasina who announced this during the 7th Convocation ceremony of the institution said the initiative is to boost the human resources of the university and same time help the institution in ranking both international and local.
According to the Vice Chancellor, “Chief Wole Olanipekun is an icon in legal profession whose wealth of experience will be useful for our students and same time serve as a role model to them.
“Olanipekun’s love for the development and advancement for legal profession and education generally is beyond measures. I want my law students to also learn one or two things from him.”
Responding, Olanipekun who received honorary Doctorate degree in Constitutional Law at the event thanked the Vice Chancellor for his giant strides in the institution.
“I gladly accepted to be a visiting professor to FUOYE ,even as from next week I would be available either physically or virtually.
“The future of this great profession lies with the younger generation coming behind, equipping them adequately is must.”
The Senior Advocate of Nigeria who described himself as a child of grace said all his donations to individual, institutions and churches are part of ways to assist humanity.
Talking about the High Court he donated to Ekiti State government in Ikere Ekiti recently, Olanipekun said this gesture is in line with best practices in the world.
He stated that the edifices housing the International Court of Justice, Hague and the Israel Supreme Court were donated by private individuals.
The legal icon announced the sum of N10 million naira for the best 20 law graduates of the institution.
Former Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of First Bank Mr Bisi Onasanya and former Captain of Nigeria National team, Chief Segun Odegbami received honorary Doctorate degrees at the event.
The Osun State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has raised the alarm over an alleged mass attack being launched on its members in parts of the State.
The party has, therefore, charged the state commissioner of police, Mr Patrick Kehinde Longe, to swing into action with a view to arresting, investigating and prosecuting those behind the attacks.
It blamed some leaders and members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the state for being behind the attacks, maiming and killing of the APC members and their supporters in the state.
The state acting chairman of the APC, Sooko Tajudeen Lawal, in a statement issued by Kola Olabisi, the party’s State Director of Media and Information, in Osogbo, on Sunday, appealed to the state commissioner of police and other security agencies to come to the aid of the APC members, who are being attacked and killed by the PDP thugs.
The statement added that the scenario has been going on since the inauguration of Governor Ademola Adeleke in November 27, 2022.
Lawal stated that one attribute of the Osun State PDP handlers is that they would be the ones attacking and killing APC members and at the same time be the ones complaining.
Lawal listed victims of the attacks to include an APC member in Ikire, Mr Saheed Oyegunju, who was abducted by suspected political thugs, in the broad daylight in the town about a week ago, was later found dead in the outskirt of the town.
He also recalled that the APC members were attacked in Ile-Ife, Ede, Ila-Orangun, Osogbo and some other towns in the state by the PDP thugs with attendant destruction of their properties. Yet, no action was taken by the Police.
Lawal disclosed that of particular reference is the Atakumosa-East Local Government Council Area of the state where almost all the APC members in the constituency have been run out.
He recalled that the immediate-past state commissioner for works and transport who doubles as the Osun State spokesman for Tinubu/Shettima Presidential Campaign Council, Engr Remi Omowaiye, had been attacked with his supporters about three times with his Tinubu/Shettima Campaign Office in Ilesa destroyed along with vehicles.
According to Lawal, the Chief of Staff to the serving Speaker of the state House of Assembly was seriously injured with broken bottles by in Ilesa about three weeks ago for no just cause, while the known suspects have been moving freely in the ancient town without being arrested by the police.
The state APC chairman disclosed that peace has taken flight from the hitherto most peaceful state in Nigeria since Governor Adeleke’s administration was inaugurated in the state in November 27, 2022.
He hinted that there is hardly a week that there are no reported cases of extra-judicial killings of innocent people in the state by the PDP killer squad who has been operating freely in Osogbo and other parts of the state
Lawal disclosed further that it is no longer news that Governor Adeleke Ede home has since become a refuge for dangerous and notorious thugs who terrorize, harass, attack and kill some innocent members of the opposition in the state.
“Why has it been difficult for the police to arrest Sanya Omirin, Lere Oyewumi, Clement Akanni Olorunwa, Adesina Rabiu Atanda(ARA), Sarafa Awotunde a.k.a. ‘Spain’, all PDP chieftains in Osun State who have been inciting their members and hoodlums to attack, maim and kill the APC members and their supporters?
“The leadership of the police in Osun State is giving a room for us, the APC members and leaders, to suspect and conclude that the police has been doing the bidding of the PDP and Adeleke in the state.
“Let me state here that immediately the current commissioner of police was transferred to Osun State to replace the one who was yet to spend two months, the members and leaders of the PDP went into a wild jubilation, saying that: ‘Yes, we are happy that our man has resumed as the state CP’, which was a loaded statement.
“The long and short of my political sermon is that the leadership of the Osun State Police Command should maintain visible and verifiable neutrality in the discharge of the statutory duties of policing at all times especially during this critical period in the history of the state.
“The allegations of violence levelled against the APC members by the leadership of the PDP in the state should be discountenanced as lacking in substance and fact.
“It was frivolous borne out of desperation merely orchestrated by the PDP leadership to cage the opposition in the state, thereby creating non-level play ground for genuine politics and politicking to thrive.”
It was a major boost for the Labour Party at the weekend in Cross River state as the All Progressives Congress, APC, heavyweight in Cross River state, Senator M. T. Mbu jr, dumped the party and declared for the Labour Party.
Senator Mbu who was the unifier-in-Chief for the crisis-ridden APC in the State and who was the architect of Governor Ben Ayade leaving PDP for APC says he is now Obidient.
Obi-Datti media gathered that Senator Mbu said he was joining the Obidient movement because it’s becoming very obvious that they are the only ones who can restore the much-needed peace, unity, and progress In Nigeria.
The distinguished Senator also believes that the Obidatti team is the only one that can restore a bright future for the Nigerian youths who are indeed the future of any and the Nation Rests on.
In a statement, the Head of Media Obi-Datti Media Office, Diran Onifade, said:
“Obi-Datti media notes that Sen. Mbu is a big addition to the growing Obiidient movement because he has a huge following, and members of his APC cadre are likely to come with him into the Obidient Fold.
“Obi-Datti,, therefore welcomes the distinguished Senator and calls on all other lovers of a new Nigeria to join in taking back Nigeria for the much-needed rebuilding.”
A very angry Chief Justice of Nigeria, CJN, The Honourable Justice Olukayode Ariwoola, has, in very strong words, warned members of the public to stop, forthwith, what he called the unwarranted attacks on Judicial officers.
The Honourable Justices of the Supreme Court, especially, have come under harsh attacks from members of the public over a couple of judgements they delivered in recent times. Such judgements have been dismissed as bought. They include, but not limited to the recent judgements which declared former Niger Delta Minister, Godswill Akpabio and Senate President, Dr Ahmad Lawan as Senatorial Candidates of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in their respective Districts in Akwa Ibom and Yobe States.
But the CJN says such criticisms are products of ignorance as the Courts give judgements based on the facts placed before the Judges.
In a statement signed on his behalf on Saturday by the Director, Media, of the Supreme Court, Dr Festus Akande, the CJN warned: “That the Supreme Court’s silence on attacks on its Judicial Officers must not be mistaken for weakness or cowardice.
“Certainly, every Nigerian citizen has inalienable right to express his or her opinion without any encumbrance but even in the course of expressing such fundamental right, we should be circumspect enough to observe the caution-gate of self-control in order not to infringe on another person’s right.
“Even in a state of emotional disequilibrium, we should be reasonable enough to make a good choice of decent words.
“We have watched with utter dismay some unfortunate events that have been unfolding in the country, particularly within the political landscape, for some days now.
“It is so disheartening to learn that some individuals and groups of persons who ought to know better and even assume the revered positions of role models to a larger proportion of the citizens are now sadly, the very ones flagrantly displaying ignorance and infantilism in the course of defending the indefensible.
“We have made it abundantly clear at different occasions that judicial officers are neither political office holders nor politicians that should be dressed in such robes.
“No Court in any clime is a Father Christmas; so, no one can get what he or she didn’t ask for.
“Similarly, all matters are thoroughly analysed and considered based on their merits and not the faces that appear in courts or sentiments that attempt to becloud the sense of reasoning.
“So, for anyone in his or her right frame of mind to insinuate that the justices have been bought over by some unknown and unseen persons is, to say the least, a bizarre expression of ignorance, which definitely has no place in law.
“We are not surprised with the surge of these well-orchestrated verbal assaults on judicial officers across the country at this period of elections”.
The statement further noted:
“It is a thing we are used to and are ever ready to absorb whatever comes our way; but there should be some level of decorum and dignity in what we say and do.
“Politics should not be played without recourse to good conscience and acceptable moral conduct, as everything is evolving globally.
“If political parties fail to organise themselves well by managing their internal wrangling maturely and now chose to bring themselves to the court: we are duty-bound to adjudicate in accordance with the provisions of the law and not the dictates of any individual or deity, as some people would want us to do.
“If political parties conduct themselves well and orderly too, the courts would definitely handle less cases and the political atmosphere will be much healthier than it is currently.
“We shall continue to do our best in discharging our constitutional responsibility to keep the country together and move the nation along the path of peace, progress and development.
“It is not only petty but equally very unreasonable for anyone to hurriedly link the CJN to his state of origin and tribe simply because of a particular judgement of the court.
“The major problem of Nigeria has always been the undue emphasis on religion and ethnicity in all our dealings and as long as we continue along that path, progress will remain a mirage.
“As at this moment, over 600 cases have so far gone to court from just party primaries which were conducted by political parties without any encumbrance or interference from any external bodies.
“So, will the political parties or any individual now accuse the court of causing such unpleasant intra-party wrangling that defied all internal conflict resolution mechanisms?
“Most times, some people try as much as possible to disingenuously stand logic on its head to show their level of unimaginable dexterity.
“Those who have cultivated the unfashionable penchant of always attacking the judiciary over every judgment or ruling should better have a rethink and start channelling such robust energy into some ventures that are more developmental than destructive.
“We are not politicians and should not, by any stroke of imagination, be cast in that mould either.
“Nobody’s interest can ever supersede the interest of everybody. Nigeria is bigger than everyone of us. A word is enough for the wise.”
