The news of her death was shared by popular Ilorin based cleric, Alfa Aribidesi At-Tawdeeh Islamic Da’awah, on his official Facebook page.

Also confirming the development, was the Senior Special Assistant on New Media to Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos, Jubril Gawat, who is a relative of the deceased. He tweeted: “Indeed we belong to Allah, and indeed to Him we will return.” Q 2 V 156.”
Sources close to the Late Musician said she gave up in early hours of Tuesday September 24, 2024.
She was sick for a few days and was getting better, before she passed.
She was well known for her enchanting voice and religious songs which deeply resonated with many in the Muslim community.
Her loss is deeply felt among her fans and the broader Islamic music scene – with the news of her death widely shared.
The sad news of Rukayat Gawat’s passing soon spread on social media, and fans shared their condolence messages.
