Police Recovers Abducted Anambra Law Makers Vehicle

The Anambra state Police Command, on Thursday, December 26, 2024, informed that its operatives have recovered the vehicle in which the kidnapped Anambra  Lawmaker was riding in before the unfortunate incident.

The Source reports that Hon Justice Azuka, member representing Onitsha North constituency at the State House of Assembly on the platform of the Labour Party, LP, was on  Christmas eve, kidnapped by some  gunmen .

He was heading home when he was suddenly attacked and abducted along the Ugwunpampa road .

While confirming the abduction, the State Police Authorities, through a statement from spokesman  Tochukwu Ikenga SP, assured that all efforts were being made to ensure the safe rescue of the Lawmaker and the arrest of those responsible for his ordeal.

“The Anambra State Police Command has activated operational plans for the possible rescue and arrest of the kidnappers of Mr Justice Azuka, Honourable State House of Assembly Member representing Onitsha North Constituency .

“The report of the incident indicates that on December 24, 2024, at about 9.20 pm, while returning home along Ugwunapampa Road. He was abducted by unidentified persons” the police said.

A statement from Ikenga on Thursday, noted that the recovery of Hon. Azuka’s vehicle resulted from an intense ongoing operation aimed at rescuing the victim.

“The separate rescue team sighted the abandoned vehicle on Upper Iweka Road, Ikenga stated.

The State Commissioner of Police, Nnaghe  Obono Itam, according to the statement, has charged Operatives to go the whole hog in rescuing the victim.
