Police Nab a Kidnapper kingpin in Calabar, Recovers Fresh skull of Victim

The Police in Calabar, the Cross River State  capital, have recorded a major breakthrough in the war against violent crime with the arrest of a notorious Kidnapper, Emmanuel Luke.

Luke, who is the second-in-command to another  wanted notorious kidnapper, “Romance”, was arrested by the Anti- Kidnapping and Cultism Squad (AKCS) of the Command  in collaboration with the State’s crime buster, Operation Akpakwu, through intelligence gathering in a covert operation.

Romance who was declared wanted last year by the police has been at large since then.The Police have, however, assured that he would be captured.

The Dragon Squad of the AKCS led by SP A. Awodi and Operatives of Operation Akpakwu, the magazine was informed, trailed Luke who has, allegedly, been responsible for major kidnappings in Calabar and its environs for years.

A police source told The Source that Luke’s boss, Romance, was not just a cultist but also a hardened armed robber who has killed many of his victims.

Said the police source: “Luke has made confessional statements, he admitted he and his gang have kidnapped so many people in Calabar.

“He also revealed that it was him and his gang that killed and beheaded one Dede in December 2020 at White House Street, Calabar South Local Government Area of the State.

“Investigation is ongoing to apprehend other members of the gang including their Kingpin, ‘Romance’, who has been on the run since he was declared wanted by the Cross River State Government”
