The Imo State Police Command  on Thursday, June 5, 2025, vowed to track down all those behind the spate of violence attacks on Agwa Community in Oguta Local Council of the State.

A fresh attack on Wednesday, June 4, by suspected hoodlums, according to a statement from the Command’s spokesperson, Henry Okoye, left three persons dead, and several others injured.

The Police authorities informed that a crack team of operatives from the Tactical Unit of the Command has been deployed to work in concert with personnel from other security agencies, including members of Local Vigilante Groups, to fish out the perpetrators of the  disturbances.

Okoye explained that the security team will beam its searchlight on some targeted spots, including forests, bushes, and other suspected flashpoints and criminal enclaves.

The coordinated efforts, he noted are primarily aimed at taking the fight to the criminal dens with a view to smoking them out.

This is just as the State Commissioner of Police, Aboki Danjuma, condemned the spate of senseless violence attacks on innocent and law abiding residents.

He, therefore, directed the State Criminal Investigation  Department to conduct a thorough inquest to unravel the circumstances surrounding the orgy of attacks.

While sympathizing with the  relations of families relations, and friends of the victims of the disturbances, the CP reaffirmed the unwavering commitment of the Command to protecting  residents of the affected communities, through enhanced security measures.
