Police Arrests 11 For Gang Ra3ping 13 Year-old Mentally Challenged Girl In Kebbi

The Kebbi State Police Command has arrested eleven  suspects in connection with the ra3pe of a 13- ear old health- challenged in Tungar Community, Shanga Local Council of the State.

A statement from the Command’s spokesperson, Nafiu Abubakar CSP, on Saturday July 19, 2025, informed that the eleven men who are  presently in custody, were reported to have taken undue advantage of the teenage girl, and forcefully had a carnal knowledge of her one after the other.

The arrest of the suspects, he added, was sequel to reports from the Shanga Local Government Divisional Police Officer, DPO, on the unfortunate incident.

This is as he stated that the apprehension of the suspects is an integral part of the Kebbi State Police Command’s concerted efforts at rooting out all forms of Gender Based Violence, GBV, in the State.

He reaffirmed the unflinching determination of the Command in ensuring the safety and protection of every girl-child from sexual abuse or any other forms of gender based violence.

While appealing to the general public to always volunteer credible intelligence to assist the Police in the discharge of its duties ,the Command assured that the suspects will be arraigned as soon as investigations are concluded.

The police authorities also reassured of its commitment towards ensuring that justice is served in the end.
