The Imo state government is sounding an alarm, saying that the Peoples democratic Party, PDP, is planning to demonstrate against the Supreme Court ruling Thursday 12 March 2020 in Welcoming the former governor, Emeka Ihedioha, to Imo State.
Ihedioha is billed to return to Imo state tomorrow after a long absence, and there are indications that a welcome party is to meet him on arrival at the Airport. PDP party Chieftains are expected to be on ground to welcome him.
But the Governor of imo state, Hope Uzodinma, says that there are plans to hijack the welcome party by hoodlums imported by the party to destabilize the peace of the state.
In a release signed by the Chief Press Secretary, Oguwuike Nwachukwu, Ihedioha said that the PDP plan to “pour insults on the Supreme Court Judges for refusing to reverse their earlier judgment on the Imo governorship case.”
“The government is fully aware of the plan by the PDP to hide under the guise of welcoming ousted Governor Emeka Ihedioha back to Imo to stage the protests. Their plan is to make it look like Imo people trooped out to welcome him and hide under that cover to display placards condemning the Supreme Court Justices for refusing to reverse their judgment in favour of Ihedioha and the PDP”, Ihedioha said.
