The National Working Committee (NWC) of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has expelled Senator Chimaroke Nnmani from the party.
Also expelled are a Senatorial Candidate, two House of Representatives Candidates from Ekiti State, in the election coming up in two weeks time – February 25, 2023.
Those expelled had earlier been suspended about two weeks ago for their refusal to attend the Presidential campaign rally held in Ado Ekiti earlier.
A statement on Friday by the Party’s Spokesman, Debo Ologunagba, stated that “at its 566th meeting today, Friday, February 10, 2023, PDP approved the expulsion of the following individuals from the Party for anti-Party activities and other grave offences in violation of the Constitution of the PDP as amended in 2017
“Those expelled from the Party are:
Senator Chimaroke Nnamani, Enugu State; Hon. Chris Ogbu, Imo State.
“Others are: Ajijola Lateef Oladimeji, Ekiti Central; Olayinka James Olalere, Ekiti Central II; Fayose Oluwajomiloju John, Ekiti Central I; Akerele Oluyinka, Ekiti North I; Emiola Adenike Jennifer, Ekiti South II
“The expulsion takes effect from today, Friday, February 10, 2023.”
Nnamani, a two-term Enugu State Governor under the PDP, a two-term Senator on the ticket of the PDP who is also vying for a third-term under the PDP, has brazenly been playing anti-party activities by openly supporting, and campaigning for the Presidential Candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Bola Tinubu, at the expense of his Party’s Presidential Candidate, Atiku Abubakar.
He, lately, attributed his action to the non-zoning of the Presidential ticket by the PDP to the South, an excuse which has been dismissed by not a few people as an after-thought.
