The Peoples Democratic Party’s Board of Trustees, (BoT) has vowed not to have anything to do with the embattled national secretary of the party, Samuel Anyanwu.
Instead, it affirmed former National Youth Leader, Sunday Ude-Okoye, as the party’s National Secretary.
Governors of the party had last week advised the BoT to back Ude-Okoye, following the ruling of the Court of Appeal to that effect.
The PDP Governors’ forum also distanced its members from Senator Samuel Anyanwu and confirmed Ude-Okoye as the party’s National Secretary during a meeting in Asaba, Delta State.
BoT Chairman and former Senate President, Adulphus Wabara, made this announcement on Wednesday, at the ongoing 80th trustees’ meeting in Abuja.
Wabara noted that the decision was made after thoroughly reviewing all the issues and documents provided by Ude-Okoye and Anyanwu.
Anyanwu had in a statement condemned the decision of the PDP governors and vowed to pursue the case to the Supreme Court.
He maintained that the decision of the governor’s would further prolong the crisis within the party.
