The Seven-Year Old union between Paul Okoye of the famous defunct P-Square and Anita Tonye Okoye is set to become history.
Wife of the Music Star has filed for a divorce against her husband who she dated for close to 10-Years before walking down the aisle with him. The split is due to irreconcilable differences between the couple.
The couple had tied the nuptial knot in a flamboyant wedding in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, with Creme de la Creme of the society gracing the event.
Anita petitioned an Abuja High Court to dissolve their marriage after seven years.
This is coming a few days after Rudeboy released his debut album as a solo act, ‘Rudeboy Kill Us.’
In the court document, Anita requested for dissolution of her marriage, with her lawyers advising Paul to challenge the claims and petition if he feels disgruntled.
It would be recalled that In April 2021, Anita sparked divorce rumours when it was reported that she relocated with their three children – Andre, Nadia and Nathan, to the United States of America.
In 2019, Anita was accused by a popular aphrodisiac vendor of buying items to keep her marriage together.
The vendor later took down the story from Instagram.
The leaked official petition however brought to fore the basis of the irretrievable break down of the marriage.
The news of their pending divorce comes as a massive shock to both families and their close friends.
According to Vanguard Newspaper, “A source close to the couple confirmed that both parties will proceed amicably with the legal resolution and be the best co-parents in the interest of their children.
“Paul and Anita have always been very good friends and like every couple they have had issues for a while but plan to remain on good terms and keep the friendship they have always had since their days as university students.”
It was gathered that Paul is currently on a press tour, while Anita has moved to the United States where she is working on her Masters Degree as a graduate student.
