Fifty five years old Ibadan Polytechnic, has been renamed.
Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, on Thursday, announced the renaming of The Polytechnic, after the late former governor of the State, Dr. Omololu Olunloyo.
The Polytechnic was established in August, 1970 and late Omololu Olunloyo was the pioneer Rector.
The Governor made the announcement in his brief remarks at the interdenominational commendation service for the late former governor, held at the Obafemi Awolowo stadium in Ibadan.
Governor Makinde said: “The institution will now be known as Omololu Olunloyo Polytechnic, Ibadan.”
Olunloyo, also a former Governor of Oyo state, died a few weeks to his 90th birthday.
