Emotions ran high as residents of Atimbo in Calabar Municipality woke up Monday morning to a bewildering sight of a neatly dressed new born baby abandoned in a refuse dump.
Some passers-by and residents were seen discussing the development in hush tones while others angrily rained curses on the mother of the baby whom they suspected was a young girl and a victim of unwanted pregnancy.
At press time frantic efforts were on to contact relevant authorities to evacuate the baby.
